Its nearly 24 hours since the War on Mumbai began.
While the nitwits in the media are giving us a ball by ball running commentary with the maturity of a juvenile delinquent, the Indian State has begun to assert itself having cornered the vermin that attacked Mumbai to a hellhole from which any are unlikely to escape alive.
While operations are still on a real time post mortem is being conducted by the media houses which frankly is distracting the people’s attention from the job at hand.
This is the opportunity for the 24×7 news channels to discharge their Dharma and Karma in Countering Terror instead of running down the Indian State with their instant punditry, mostly half baked.
There will be a time to discuss who they terrorists were, how they managed to sneak into Mumbai.
There will also be a time to discuss what happened blow by blow in each operation down to a photo finish.
But let it be clear Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai and your compatriots in the 24×7 media, we dont need you taking out of context every single event and analysing it threadbare.
This is not the 20×20 cricket league, spare us your running commentary.
If you really care about defeating the Terrorists and Winning this War here are a few suggestions:
- In an incident like this nobody has a full accounting of facts. Accurate Information is the most scarce commodity. Do some hard work by reaching out to the citizens of Mumbai to re-construct eye witness accounts.
- Try?to help piece together how many terrorists were there and engage the citizens to help trace any that may have gotten away.
- Work with the State to be an effective disinformation tool to aid in the ongoing operations instead of reminding the State constantly of your nuisance value
- Last but not the least be mindful that your incompetence is being beamed across the world so rather telling the world the asses that you are, bring some gravitas to your onscreen conduct and work with the State to putting the right message out to the world to counter the growing pestilence of Obamanalysts eager to find root causes.
Offstumped would like to complement the multi-force commando units across the NSG, Military and Navy that are engaged in ongoing operations for the number of victims rescued and turning the heat on the terrorists. The job is not done yet but we are with you every step of the way.
Offstumped would also like to call upon its readers in Mumbai to engage in a citizen’s action to determine if any Terrorists got away and mingled in the civil populace. The police is distracted with the ongoing operations and their aftermath. While there definitely must be someone keeping awake at night worrying about this question. But in a city like Mumbai with its congestion and dense neighborhoods there is no substitute to some sustained civic action.
Rather than show the spirit of Mumbai by merely showing up to work tomorrow, Offstumped calls upon Mumbaikars to get engaged in some civic vigilance to verify the identity and antecedents of those around them and make sure no one has gotten away or found shelter in a safe haven in the dark alleys of Mumbai.
This was an escalation that was beyond our imagination but we must collectively send a message that the Indian State will ultimately prevail.
So help with the manhunt, make sure nobody got away and there are no safe havens for terrorists in Mumbai.
