CNN-IBN crosses the line

Offstumped is taking a break from the indisposition of this blogger to take issue with what has now become a?no holds barred Hindu bashing by english language media outlets in India.

First let us put this issue into perspective.

Since 2004 this nation has been subjected to more than 13 attacks of mass terror.

During the same time Maoist violence has peaked.

Meanwhile separatist violence in Assam has not just been out of control but is now assuming dangerous proportions with the cross breeding of terror between the ULFA, NDFB, HUJI and others manifested in the recent serial blasts.

Through this entire 4 year period of extraordinary Internal strife, the nation suffers from

- absentee leadership from a Sonia Gandhi who runs away from responsibility in 2004

- executive delinquency from a Manmohan Singh who has gone more often on the record on what he cant do than on demonstrating what he can do

- utter incompetence and empty bravado from a Shivraj Patil who has managed to even embarass the word “shame” with his abject lack of it

Through this same 4 year period of extraordinary internal strife and a government in hibernation you had card carrying cadre of the UPA’s partners in crime, the CPI-Mafioso indulge in rape in Singur and war on the Constitution in Nandigram while the UPA looked the other way.

But somehow none of this has mattered to the english language media across India.

They have carried on as if

- there was no War on Terror

- there was no need for alarm on the dysfunctional governance

- there was no reason to raise a hue and cry when card carrying members of a Party Government in connivance with the Police make the Constitution irrelevant.

But then something happens in a non descript town in the interiors of one State, where one bomb explodes and a few people died.

It was all the excuse the english language media and their sponsors in the Congress to completelt lose perspective and to whip up a politically motivated campaign based on lies and rumors to bash Hindu symbols and to give currency to meaningless phrases like “Hindu Terror”.

This Orwellian Campaign has reached its nadir with this image splashed across the landing page of CNN-IBN.

IN ORANGE COUNTRY: The Centre said such groups have tarnished the image of the country internationally.

Here is the problem with this imagery.

No group involved in any criminal or terrorist activity has either used the “OM” to claim moral sanction or sought moral sanction from any Hindu Scripture, Text or Religious Institution.

With this irresponsible association of “OM” with an insinuation of terror against groups none of which have either claimed responsibility nor have been charged with acts of terror, CNN-IBN has crossed a very sacred line.

It now stands guilty of completely communalising the public debate on Terrorism and aiding and abetting a slander campaign with no responsibility towards facts or truth.

Rajdeep Sardesai & Co. have time and again transgressed that fine dividing line between Journalistic Freedom and utter partisanship.

After their disgraceful conduct during the Gujarat Elections, their criminal conspiracy to absolve Manmohan Singh of the taint of Cash for Votes Scandal they have exhausted any journalistic currency to peddle untruths and to push an agenda.

Tainting “OM” with insinuations of Terrorism is unacceptable.
?
?
?
?
?
?

?

Offstumped demands that CNN-IBN immediately apologise for this irresponsible association of “OM” with Terror and withdraw this image and fire those responsible for this imagery, failing which it must be prepared to face legal action for inciting communal hatred with offensive imagery.

Rakesh K Singh | New Delhi
SIMI chief admits to role of banned outfit, jihadi elements in Samjhauta, 2006 Malegaon blasts
Gives clean chit to Army officer Purohit, Sadhvi Pragya

  3. Ashish says:

Please to phurgive phor cut pasting, but this is too good wonleee..

The report of the narco analysis test on SIMI commander Safdar Nagori and his close aides takes the wind out of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) probe into the possible involvement of Hindu outfits and Army officers in the Samjhauta Express train blasts. Based on the ATS claims, a Haryana railway police team reached Mumbai on Thursday to interrogate Malegaon blast case suspects Lt Col Srikant Prasad Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur.

The findings of the narco test of Safdar Nagori and his associates, Kamruddin Nagori and Aamil Parvez, show no involvement of Purohit and Sadhvi’s in the Samjhauta Express blasts. On the contrary, they admitted the involvement of the SIMI and jihadi elements behind the train carnage and Malegaon blasts of 2006.

The narco analysis test reports of the trio are with the ATS, Mumbai, which had also questioned the trio arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Police in March.

A joint director-level official of the operations branch of the Intelligence Bureau, responsible for the parallel investigation into the Malegaon blasts, said the Mumbai ATS claims about the involvement of the Sadhvi and Purohit are “far-fetched” as SIMI’s involvement in the case is “beyond reasonable doubt”.

Apart from the Samjhauta Express and Malegaon blasts, Nagori and his associates have also confessed to SIMI’s role and involvement of Muslims in terror attacks in Mumbai, Aurangabad, Hyderabad, Ajmer and the shootout at the American consulate in Kolkata.

Nagori told the team of doctors of FSL, Bangalore, “In the Samjhauta Express blasts, some persons from Pakistan had come and they had purchased the suitcase cover at Kataria Market, Indore. One person from (SIMI) Tanzeem had helped them to get the suitcase cover stitched. SIMI leader Abdul Razak had helped the Pakistanis in the Samjhauta Express blasts.”

Nagori also revealed that Razak had informed him beforehand about the Samjhauta Express blasts. Razak had sought the help of West Bengal SIMI president Misbah-ul-Islam for the Samjhauta explosions. Razak has a number of relatives in Pakistan, according to Nagori’s revelations. Kamruddin Nagori also concurred about Razak’s involvement in the Samjhauta Express blasts.

Kamruddin said during drug interrogation, “There were good relations between Safdar Nagori and Abdul Razak. Abdul Razak had discussed the Samjhauta Express blasts with Safdar Nagori.”

  4. Ashish says:

    Rest:

The banned outfit’s commander revealed that meetings were held by SIMI at Kurla, Kapadia Nagar and Mira Road in Mumbai for executing the terror attacks on Samjhauta Express and other blasts in the country. During the drug interrogation, Nagori revealed that SIMI has a strong presence in Maharashtra, including Malegaon, and he was “aware of the complicity of Muslims in the 2006 Malegaon blasts”.The 32-page narco analysis test report of Safdar Nagori, Kamruddin and Aamil Parzez quotes Nagori as having said, “In the Malegaon blasts (2006), some of the Muslim members were involved and that he (Nagori) was aware of it. SIMI members were involved in the Samjhauta Express train blasts.”

Nagori said, “The Maharashtra SIMI members were to take houses on rent to take shelter and to complete the tasks and targets given to them… They were often changing their hideouts.” He admitted that some terrorists from Pakistan had also come to Mumbai and the entire SIMI network in Maharashtra was involved in the Samjhauta Express blasts.

The report states, “He (Nagori) said Asif Khan from Maharashtra is his (Nagori’s) friend and that he is involved in the Mumbai train blasts and the blast at Aurangabad. After the blasts, Abdul Subhan alias Tauqeer and Asif Khan had gone to Hafeez’s house for hiding but did not find him at his place. Asif Khan met Tanvir and Yasir of Sholapur and they both arranged a hideout at Belgaum. Later, Asif was arrested from Belgaum.”

The chargesheet in the Malegaon blasts (2006) case filed by the ATS, Mumbai, concedes the “extensive presence” of SIMI in Malegaon and the outfit’s anti-India designs for waging a war against the Government.

Look who Arundhati supports – one christian fundamentalist to another

Take care, Arundhati Roy warns Sonia
Published by Indiaon May 19, 2004in African News.
NEW DELHI: Indian novelist Arundhati Roy rejoices that Sonia Gandhi, who “doesn’t play the princess”, humbled the men who berated her and warns she will face a “blatant game” from a corporate world unmoved by the electoral verdict of India’s poor. Roy said she had been “exhaling slowly” since Gandhi triumphed over all polls and a smear campaign by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party to become the frontrunner as India’s prime minister heading a left-of-centre coalition.

“I’m always very happy with people who are slightly unsure of themselves. She has taken so many risks, and yet she’s so unsure of herself and careful,” Roy said. “She doesn’t play the princess.” But Roy, a leading activist and the only non-expatriate Indian to win the Booker Prize for her novel “God of Small Things”, warned that Gandhi had a tough road ahead against an establishment which the novelist believes firmly sided with the right-wing.

    Folks,
This is from Subramanium Swamy’s website which no one from Congress has dared object to. Wonder???
ii) She has claimed that she looked after Mrs.Indira Gandhi’s household work and “practically took over” Indira’s personal side.
This is false. First, Indira Gandhi forced her to run a separate kitchen because she had insisted on cooking beef dishes. Second, during the Bangla Desh War in 1971 she fled to Italy leaving Mrs.Gandhi alone. In 1977, she forced her husband to go with her and the children and hide in the Italian Embassy in Delhi after Mrs.Indira Gandhi was defeated by the Janata Party. The then Prime Minister Morarji Desai had to intervene to bring them back. Third, she had threatened her mother-in-law to migrate to Italy with her two children in 1982, if Ms.Maneka Gandhi was not thrown out of 1, Safdarjung Road.
(iii) Ms.Sonia Gandhi has tried to make out in the Hindu interview that she made a tightly knit family with her husband. This is false. The fact is that Rajiv Gandhi had after his return from his visit to Moscow and Teheran, in February 1991, had told her that he wanted an amicable separation from her.
He had decided to effect the separation from her after the General Elections, but was assassinated. Had he lived, she would have been sent back to Italy in June 1991 with a generous financial settlement.
Their relations had become so bad that on the last day of his life, on the evening of May 21, 1991, before flying to Sriperumbudur from Visakapatnam, she said some awful things on the phone to Rajiv Gandhi when the latter had called his Secretary to find out how the children were doing. She had wanted to make sure that he kept his fateful Sriperumbudur appointment.

Kedar: Goebbels will be put to share by our main stream media,. It is a well known fact that in Kerala fireworks display is one of the main attractions during temple festivals. It is reported that the explosions occurred while removing the materials for fire works be persons. Incidentally the two who were killed belonged to RSS. It is for the police to investigate and find out the real reasons for the explosions. But our media and Veerappan politician has already declared the culprits. They are the judge, jury and executioners all rolled into one.

By the way Kannur is one of the worst affected districts with frequent violence indulged in by the CPI(M) where their main adversaries are hindu organisations viz. RSS etc., But they do indulge in violence to throttle any kind of activity by any other political party in their fiefdom. This is common in the case of CPI(M) like what happened in Nandigram.

Kannur, Kodungallur etc., are witness to violence unleashed by the Marxists to safeguard their dwindling fiefdom.

The police caught hold of some persons, tortured, but subsequently the facts were something different.

I dont have any problems with ranting but saying same thing over and over again is ridiculous. As it is many people before Nishka or Tathgatha had talked about filing a suit. My only issue whosoever feels so aggreived should file it and inform here so that we can appreciate it instead of ranting that what IBN showed hurted your sentiments. Sure it did to everyone of us but if you cant do something about it immediately then keep quiet and vote for BJP since we got no other option. They come out with many tons of theories to confuse people, so now nobody believes any govt versions.

The people of Asom already know, its Congress game plan to protect Jihadi terrorists and their votebanks. Asom blasts was carried out by Jiahdis, inside Jiahdis and ourside Jiahdis (ISI, Bangladesh intelligence) combined.

    People started asking:
Why should Asom be an exception — that the jehadis cannot launch strikes here, and that they cannot be the first force but must always be the third force? This, the government would not answer. However, the people of the State are now beginning to discover the answer, and that is the conversation even in paan shops — a good sign indeed, of awakening, of seeing the game as it is.

    FTA:
“He was McCaulay’s ideal Indian. Every country that attained freedom first seeks to rediscover its glory and identity, but Nehru’s India took off as if it never had any. India was born on Aug 15, 1947 and N discovered it anew.
Even now, when Nehru’s immortal and immoral blunders are self-evident, his apologists call him a dreamer-visionary at best and a misplaced idealist, at worst. In reality, he had both a passion and penchant for pomp, power and personal glory, not to speak of pleasure on the sly. A case in point is the way he became the Cong president and thereby the prospective PM over the head of Sardar Patel who had better credentials and more support. The common impression that N was the foremost freedom fighter is not just owing to his eloquence and elegance but also to a good amount of PR and posturing. And to the Mahatma, who according to Rajmohan Gandhi, was totally taken in by Nehru’s glamour! And thus putting greater mortals and more dedicated freedom fighters to shade!”

  42. Sootradhaar says:

    @Aryan…you are welcome buddy!

“Nehru is the root of all evil plaguing us”….well methink its more like Nehru-Gandhi dynasty being the disease that has afflicted this nation for more than six decades…suffice to say:”Is desh ka abhishaap!”

Nehru, as limeys gleefully recounted, was the last Englishman to rule India…about whose naivety even his British masters were well aware of and who played him like a piano to keep their strategic interests intact in the subcontinent after partition, is quite evident from the following quote attributed to Mountbatten in Dominic Lapierre & Larry Collins’ ‘85 book ‘Mountbatten & Partition of India’:

“While Nehru had his heads in the cloud, Patel had his feet on the ground”

& this – the thought process of the Iron Man grounded in reality, is what saved the day for India, esp. in the aftermath of partition.

Could one explain to me why is that RSS and Bajrang Dal activist are the ones who get killed by their own bombs (either making or transporting), be it kanpur, nandad, or Kerala?

  44. Bharat says:

Pandit Nehru Kutta’s (Dog) great contribution to Bharat.

At the time of the partition of India in August, 1947 non MusIims constituted 98.5% of the population of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Buddhists were 85%, Hindus (mainly Tripuri tribe) 10%, Animists 3% and Muslims 1.5%.

Presently, about 45% of the inhabitants are Bengali Muslims. Many ethnic tribals were ethnically cleansed, now living as refugees in Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. Islamic Bangladesh completely changed the demography of the region.

Nehru Dog did nothing when British handed over Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) to East Pakistan, which comprise about 98.5 % non-muslim population. It was absolute illegal as per the partion clauses and rules. Geographically contiguous areas with majority non-muslim population had to be with India, and majority muslim area had to go Pakistaan.

Chitagong people revolted the British decision to merger them with Islamic Pakistan, and there was a movement. Sardar Patel took their case and promised to liberate CHT, even by war. But, he died soon and no other bother to took the issue. Even Indira could have liberate this area after liberation of Bangladesh, till that time it was overwhelmingly non-muslim.

CHT is an imporant sea port and connected NE India with Sea. Had CHT been part of India, today NE region would have access to sea (and not land-locked) and access to other ports of India.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chittagong_Hill_Tracts

Khulna District, now part of Bangladesh.
Entire Khulna district with a Hindu majority of 52% was given to East Pakistan in lieu of the much smaller Murshidabad district which went to India.

Lahore had about 55% Hindu-Sikh population and was handed over to Pakistan by the British. It was also geographically contiguous area. What Nehru Dog did? How many of us know, the man (Cyril Redcliffe, Border Commission chairman) who demarcated the boundary was sitting in London without any ground reality of India.

List is endless, Nehru Dog’s great contributions. Our education system, after libration of Bharat, were never taught these things. As people would have spit on face of Nehru Dog. We must incorporate them in our school level curriculam. Better late than never.

Some things are too obvious to ignore..something like “Even though we cant see the shit, we can smell the shit!” You dont have to “follow” the Italian Bahoo Network to be able to see some of its biggest blunders..

  49. sud says:

    Ha ha.

Good rebuttal. I agree that the water must be muddied sometimes. Get boring, nahi toh.

And no, I don’t think it will be that easy to sue the channel coz there is no locus standi for the aggreived party in this case.

So yes, I do wanna see the angrezi dhimmedia try harder next time. Reeeally go overboard yaar. Obviously IBN’s shock treatment ain’t working. Yet. No yindoos stone-pelting their offices, yet. Time to hire a mob, maybe? Perhaps they’ll have to hire tehelka to make phony bomb threats to their own office so as to milk that for publicity and blame the eevill yindooos again, heh! Gosh, I’d like to see them try that next. :)

Janta, lez face it, the yindoo needs some more and harder jolts to wake up from civilizational stupor. The IBNs and NDTVs are doing yeoman service by hardening the yindoo psyche to unreasonable castigation, to slanderous propaganda, to organized ideological aggression, to intellectual subterfuge, and to veiled hate inter alia. The temperature and pressure in the cooker is yet to result in even the first whistle…..

So, yes, invite these jabs, practise dodging them and laugh your heart out in the end. After all, kal kisney dekha hai…

    /Have a nice day, all.

  50. KSV SUBRAMANIAN says:

Dear Bharat, We have buried, rather the so called secularists have buried, many facts and foisted fictions in its place. When Tipu invaded Kerala (Malabar) it was “Valo, Topiyo (meaning what you want to accept “Sword (death) or Topi” . I used to hear the atrocities of Tipu from my grand-mother. He is a secular icon for the present day secular fanatics. Similarly the Mappila Lahala of 1921 (Khilafat Movement). It perpetrated untold atrocities against hindus. Hindus were thrown live into a well to die. It is now termed as part of freedom struggle and those participated in this pogrom even get pension.

There was a Nehru-Liaquat Pact to safeguard the interest of minorities of India and Pakistan. Hindus who constitute ovear 24% were minorities in Pakistan and muslims were minorities in India. While in Pakistan (now Pakistan and Bangladesh) the hindu population of hindus has reduceds to less than 1.5% in Pakistan and 9% in Bangladesh the muslim population has increased. Where is the pact? Is it not the duty of the Government of India to see that the Pact is followed in letter and spirit. But unfortunately both the countries safeguarded the interests of one community only. Pakistan was concerned about muslims, India too was concerned about minorities. But unfortunately nobody bothered about hindus and their plights. Now hindus are being relegated into second class citizens in India. To break their morale in every way they are divided on the basis of caste, community, area language, north-south, aryan-dravidian, rich-poor, high-caste-low caste, fanatic, fundamentalist, fascist and what not. They have now started calling them terrorists. Where will they stop ?????????

Just lookit ….fellas….how the dirty mind of the Congress ticks, when it comes to internal security.

They have called a series of experts to frame their manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections

“Experts’ advice on terror law puts Cong in dilemma”

    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Experts_advice_on_terror_law_puts_Cong_in_dilemma/articleshow/3715234.cms

    Some excerpts:

“In his presentation on terrorism, senior lawyer K T S Tulsi told the Congress panel that there was a need for an anti-terror law which was more stringent than Pota. He said a federal agency to deal with terrorism was the need of the hour. A party leader said the lawyer, before his Powerpoint presentation, urged the panel to hear him out as what he was about to say went against Congress views.”

“The suggestions do not sit comfortable with Congress’s viewpoint, especially in the backdrop of anger among Muslim community over anti-terror campaign after Batla House encounter. With parties like SP hammering on the issue, there is a fear in Congress that the issue may dent its minority votebase in Lok Sabha polls.”

Look like, guyz who work for CNN IBN are visiting this blog finally and leaving some comments behind. These kids are trying their tricks here. These guyz shud concentrate on preparing for job interviews instead of wasting time here. CNN IBN is going to pay dearly in near future for its tresspassing acts.

AP to compensate Muslim youth wrongfully booked

    15 Nov 2008, 0416 hrs IST, TNN

The AP government has decided to extend financial aid to Muslim youth — who were booked for terror activities but later found innocent by courts.

This is in addition to the youth picked up by cops but no chargesheet was filed. AP minority affairs and energy minister Shabbir Ali said, ‘‘We had earlier decided to help rehabilitate minority youth picked up by cops and released later. Now we thought why leave out youth who are acquitted by courts.’’

The rehabilitation package includes a grant of Rs 30,000 that will be given to each acquitted youth.

  54. Jiggs says:

    Birju…

I am glad that Reddy is doing this, as this can be quoted as a precedent and once the INNOCENT Hindus and Army officials FRAMED in the Malegoan blasts case. I am sure a couple of HUNDRED CRORES will have to be paid by the Maharashtra Government.

    LAGE RAHO REDDY BHAI !!!!!

I recently saw a news item on rediff on how they set up a shop for a muslim youth previously booked for terrorism in Malakpet area of Hyd… I mean.. thats where I live! Wow!

I remember someone last week had threatened CNN-IBN with legal action if they did not withdraw the OM symbol from their website within a given deadline (I think it was upto 17th or 18th November)

Any idea whats the status? Has CNN-IBN removed the OM symbol? If not, has the said legal case been filed against it?

  61. Debasis Dhar says:

Sitting in studio, discussing hindu terror in studio among television media by upper middle class people, speaker from Bollywood, social worker, studying in US is no solution to the problem. Come and live in country side. Visit any minorites dominated area like in ASSAM where none is without illegal weapon. Go to Pakistan, Bangladesh, our Kashmir, today also we are tortured to flee or die. No one is guilty until proven in the court of law. Why is Media framing our people into charges ? Secondly, why is media (Particularly like R Sardesai) not raising issue that after so much of time passed just before election in 5 states and general election, ATS came forward with the findings.

I would like to raise question why R. Sardesai on himself thanks on television to Gujrat CM for demolishing hindu temple in gandhinagar and ATS Mumbai for their work without going deep into the case.

Either R Sardesai stops anti hindu rhetoric or somebody file PIL against him.

  62. Swabhimaan says:

Hindus (including Jains and Budhists) who are tired of pseudo-secular governments and media are invited to join Swabhimaan – a movement launched to unite Hindus of India and protect their interests. For more details please contact Swabhimaan2008@gmail.com

    STRENGTHEN US WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION

  63. G says:

    @Debasis

Why somebody? Why not you file it? Stop waiting for others to do what you want. Why should “somebody ” file? Do you mean you are busy and there are others whose job is to file PIL? As it is the situation all nationalists are finding themself is dude to this attitude of giving orders to others or presuming “somebody” will do what they want .

  64. Bharat says:

    @ G:

Yes, why not me or you file a PIL. There are differences. That’s why there are leaders and workers/supporters. Leaders are not meant to give lectures and enjoy luxurious life, and worker should do everything including PIL and street demonstrations. If I have to fight the battle for me, then why leaders and parties? Why they call themselves leaders and asked our support. help and vote? By offering opinions, voices, we are also contributing to the party, say BJP and hindu organizations.

It is the job of active leaders- BJP, VHP etc. and not the foot soldiers. Who pay for filing PIL and lawyers?

If Hindu parties and organizations can’t do, then they should not asked our votes, supports.

  65. Rajesh says:

And they do it again. Islamofascist CNN-IBN equates “Tandav” with “Terror” and uses them interchangeably. http://ibnlive.in.com/news/bengal-governor-slams-states-politics-of-terror/98745-37.html
