Offstumped wishes all its reader a Happy Deepavali with these musings.
The nation is less than six months away from the next general election. If the first four decades after Independence were marked by the absolute domination of one family in presiding over the nation’s affairs the last 2 decades saw the beginning of a more level playing political field. After some political turmoil and short lived national governments the nation has finally seen two back to back full term premierships from Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh.
Perhaps it can be safely said that political stability is the only thing Vajpayee and Manmohan regimes had in common.? It is useful to contrast the mood of the nation in the last 6 months of the Vajpayee regime with the Manmohan regime.
For the purpose of this exercise Offstumped examined the editorial pages of The Hindu between November of 2003 and March of 2004 with the editorial pages in the last 30 days.
It is striking that period between Nov 2003 and March 2004 was one of relative political calm across the nation. As latest as March 2004 the Vajpayee regime was firmly focused on Governance with initiatives like revamping the National Security Council to Urban reforms. There was some concern on lack of job growth but nothing of alarming proportions.
If optimistic editorials on the economy spelled the mood, here is what Offstumped found striking over a two month period between Feb and March 2004 after the Lok Sabha was dissolved Offstumped did not see a single divisive issue dominate the public debate to make its way to the editorial pages. In fact the majority of the editorials in The Hindu were on the state of the economy or foreign affairs.
Neither Divisive Identity Politics, nor?Terrorism nor Caste or Class conflicts find any mention in the public debate during that period with the Gujarat riots of 2002 a faint and distant echo.
It is also striking that Communal Socialist rhetoric by the usual suspects that is so common these days makes no appearance during that entire period. The most dominant topics – Kashmir, peace talks with Pakistan, the economy and the U.S. elections.
Now contrast this with how the mood of the nation has soured over the past 5 years with the Manmohan Singh Sonia Gandhi duo presiding over the nation’s affairs.
From North to South and East to West if there is one sentiment in common it is the manne in which social conflicts have been allowed to fester and dominate the public debate. The legacy of the Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi duo is not just the utter mismanagement of the economy but a litany of conflicts that have driven deep fissures into the social fabric in areas where none existed just 4 years back.
We went from a period of successful elections in Kashmir to deep conflict over Jammu, from a period where the wounds from Gujarat Riots were forgotten to a period where no debate would begin without invoking the riots, from a period where class entitlements were given the short shrift as the nation looked forward to a high performing economy to a period where the economy is no longer managed and entitlements have become the political mantra of the day.
If Terrorism was not even a footnote in the period leading up to the last election we are now faced with not just Terrorism becoming the most dominant issue of the day but with an obscenely vulgar public debate that will view everything only from the prism of vote bank politics.
How pray did the Mood of the Nation sour from one of Optimism fuelled by limitless possibilities to one of bitterness and myopic politics ?
In the answer to that friends lies the criminal irresponsibility of the Congress Party on two counts
- the first was in the foisting on this nation a political arrangement first with the Communists and then with the Samajwadi Party that thrived on Social Conflicts from communal issues in Uttar Pradesh to caste and class issues across the country
- the second was in the foisting on this nation another political arrangement of “Power without Accountability” that saw an electile dysfunctional bureaucrat in Manmohan Singh pushing the Communal Socialist agenda of a political leader in Sonia Gandhi who sees herself as being?above any kind of public scrutiny.
It was not without reason that Offstumped described the politics of the Congress divisive. Premised on “Progresive Liberalism” that thrives on “victimhood” and “guilt” the evidence is incontrovertible that the Congress having inherited a nation bereft of conflict has damaged its fabric irreversibly with its Communal Socialist agenda.
On the auspicious occassion of Diwali Offstumped calls upon all right thinking nationalist Indians to reflect upon this souring of the mood of the nation and give serious thought to defeating this divisive brand of politics rather than fall into its trap for nothing serves the Communal Socialists better than festering conflicts that create new classes of victims while spreading around an all pervasive emotion of guilt.

Good initiative. Take care to take appropriate samples. Calling people with landlines or mass mailing will probably get you the middle class and upwards, which may not be representative. Emails are a good idea but need to address the representation problem.
@Bharat, not sureif we can attribute the problem to only Patnaik, the BJP seems to lack courage to take the right decision. or even worse they think this is the right decision. (BTW to be completely fair, this came from a SC advise to the state and was not completely a state govt initiative. That does not of course mean that the govt should not have taken a more proactive position with the SC
I think running full fledged electronic polling campaign makes more sense to me. I suggest following ideas:
1) Make common e-mail id with name such as jeetegabharat@nationalinterst.in or whatever.
2) Make nice and terse questionnaire not more than 7 questions. Asking people to reply back.
3) Also wrap it up in request to make new voter register. Requesting them to promote campaign for registering new voters. Taking pledge to take atleast 5 people to vote along with them. Promoting http://www.jagoree.com.
Do above suggesting this make sense to you guyz?? Can you guyz throw in more ideas??
I would also rephrase question 3 as follows -
Has your life improved in the past 5 years of UPA rule? Will you hold the govt responsible for the outcome?
the questionnaire is a good initiative. The best way to push a viewpoint is to slightly understate it. Don’t accuse cong. Don’t plug bjp. Let the person answering the questions figure it out for himself.
This is how it should begin:
Compared to May 2004, when UPA government took over, do you today:
1. Feel more secure economically or less?
2. Feel more secure physically – as in facing a terrorist or law-and-order threat — or less?
3. Feel that the overall situation of harmony between people in the country is better or worse?
4. Feel more optistimic for a peaceful and prosperous future for a) yourself and b) the country, or less?
gujjuman,
will do that, but i have studied some previous survey efforts buddy and email surveys dont work in india. they are not a good representative. even LAN line we get only middle or upper middle class. only 1-2% of people in india who have access to email vote. The most important thing in survey is to take a good representative and random sample. As of now i think this phone stuff will help us predict at least the urban seats well. For the rural seats we have to come up with something.
I agree with your initiative on voting, that we should and can do. but survey over internet, no buddy will give you very misleading results. maybe i should find a way to get cell phone numbers by location, because as i see more people have cell phones than lan lines.
regarding the questionare

Murali
ok guys, i think that works
1) Do you feel economic security?
2) Do you feel secure physically?as in facing a terrorist or law-and-order threat — or less?
3) Has your life improved in the past 5 years of UPA rule? Will you hold the govt responsible for the outcome?
4) How do you think your local government has performed on different fronts?
5) 4. Feel more optistimic for a peaceful and prosperous future for a) yourself and b) the country, or less? Do you think a change of govts will make things worse or better.
Can anyone drop in some ideas on how i can a random list of cell numbers by area.
Guys,
instead of emailing, how about using SMS as an instrument for registering voters/asking them to vote for BJP etc wouldnt that be much more effective and penetrating then the ‘elite’ email in India? Can Skype (free!) be used for surveys/SMS??

My additions:
Re Questionnaire:
Do you think the secularism that the current government practises is the proper form of secularism?
(IMHO this is the most important question for Indians today)
Re What BJP needs to do once in power:
Change textbooks, ie tell students the truth about India instead of letting another generation grow up on sickular lies.
NCP first to pay compensation under new ordinance to VHP
Within a week after issuing the ordinance, NCP Student Wing became the first organisation to pay Rs 20,000 as compensation to VHP.Compensation amount cheque will be handed over to the VHP office-bearers through the Collector S Chokkalingam.

Do you think the secularism that the current government practises is the proper form of secularism?
I think this question can be used to determine whether person prefers NDA or UPA. It is also thought provoking.
what is the word for secularism in hindi?
dharma-nirpekshata
But according to rajnath singh it should be pantha-nirpekshata.
but reading some unbiased articles and the way stupid way BJP is behaving after this sadhvi issue, i think this girl (if she is the culprit) has single handedly destroyed all the momentum BJP built up over the past one year among the urban voters. I am sorry to say this, but they have to come out in public and defend her or solve her issue in some way instead of hiding like this. the urban voter will definitely think. When that mohd surti of congress was caught just 3 weeks back for surat blasts in 93, BJP should have openly branded congress a terrorist party. I dont know how they are going to get out of this quagmire???
Gr8 idea Murali about the questionnaire!
Here are my two cents:
1. Whats the most important issue facing the country today?
(If they can’t or vacillate while responding, give the interviewees the following options to choose from: Price-rise aka economy, Terrorism, Security, Education)
2. Whom do you think is responsible for the current situation, esp in security arena, prevailing in the country?
3. Do you feel certain sense of helplessness about what the nation has undergone esp in the last couple of months?
4. Whom do you think is the best party or leader to tackle the problems – both internal as well as external – confronting the nation?
5. What do you think about the confidence motion that was passed in the Lok Sabha in July through the support of SP & withdrawal of the same by Communists? Does it smell opportunistic to you?
6. Do you think Manmohan Singh has fallen short of fulfilling is duty as the PM of India? If so, in what maaner? Can you please elaborate?
Sootra,
Will take up ur questions as well, by the way can anyone hint at a hindi term for secularism. and yah looks like BJP is making a start at defending the false accusations
http://www.dailypioneer.com/130888/BJP-slams-bid-to-link-Hindus-with-terrorism.html
secularism means dharma-nirpekshata
thanks gujjuman.
Murali,
I was saying that this Sadhvi episode will put BJP on the backfoot. However, this can be converted into an opportunity as well by attacking the Congress. They might lose some secular Hindu votes, but they will more solidly be able to retain their base which put them in power.
I think BJP was waiting for a couple of days to things to settle. Immediately providing a counter response is not always a good thing.
NDTV is starting to post ‘articles’ from ’surfers’ calling hindus terrorists, with the caveat ‘ndtv is not responsible for the views of surfers’.
Prannoy/Radhika roy own 60% of NDTV shares. the rest by mutual funds and private investors. cant we start a campaign for people to dump ndtv shares, kill their price?

arjun,
i agree with you. the state elections will be a litmus test. If they win MP that means BJP voters dont care damn about these false allegations period. Once they win all 4 elections congress workers themselves will say goodbye to their party bosses.
so just hold your breath for a month and let things slowly unwind. but as per the press statement, BJP is doing the right thing, just because these sickulars rejoice with a couple of false allegations, bjp should not stop its battering ram, against this sarkar on account of terror. they should in fact be more open and say, not just terror, congress is even trying to divert attention by such cheap tricks and mumbai ats being hand in glove.
they shd also silently make sure that sadhvi is acquitted of all charges and then slam the congress once and for all.
If one sadhvi accused of bombing 1 mosque with 1 fatality somehow in hindu minds makes up for the 5,000+ dead in terorrist attacks, 60,000 killed in JK, and 500,000 put in refuge camps, and stop hindus from voting BJP, then hindus deserve to be ruled over by not just congress or SP or Muslim league but the jaziya imposing moghuls.
I agree 1000% aryan. but lets not jump, i think things are fine. lets just wait for election results. Nov 1 there is a huge NDA rally in sonepat. the turnout will tell us a lot.

Pragya being falsely implicated: Gujarat BJP
Ahmedabad, Oct 27 (IANS) Pragya Singh Thakur, a Hindu monk arrested for last month’s bomb blasts in Gujarat and Maharashtra, is being falsely implicated, Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Purushottam Rupala said Monday.”Linking Hindu culture with terrorism is wrong and the Congress is making such wrong statements,” Rupala told IANS here.
“Calumny is being heaped on Sadhvi Pragya. The Congress and secularists are falsely implicating the Hindu sadhvi. The whole world knows about the evil machinations of the Congress and it seems only you (media) do not know about it.”
Pragya Singh Thakur, also known as Sadhvi Purnachetananandgiri, and two others were arrested last week by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of the Maharashtra police on the charge of masterminding the Sep 29 low-intensity blasts in Modasa in north Gujarat and Malegaon in Maharashtra.
Her family is based in Surat in south Gujarat.
Gujarat BJP spokesperson I.K. Jadeja said: “Our national level leadership has stated in no uncertain terms that Sadhi Pragya has no links with BJP.”
Replying to Congress MP Madhusudan Mistry’s charge that he had given the names of the Modasa blast suspects to the Gujarat police but police did nothing, Jadeja said it was unfair to hurl such accusations.
“The Gujarat government is trying to get to the root of all this and the police are committed to hunting down the perpetrators of this barbaric action,” he said.
“If any member of the BJP is involved in such heinous acts, the party strongly condemns such actions and the BJP will have nothing to do with such persons,” Jadeja said.
BJP is just confusing itself on this issue.
I think it should trust Police but should also keep tab on investigation.
Come next year’s LS elections and i am quite assured that BJP/NDA will improve it’s Tally in every state.
Agree 1000 too! That is what I said in #35 (I guess 9:25pm is a better marker, the post number looks like a “–5″)
BJP has to keep voters focussed on the big picture about this UPA:
their skewed interpretation of secularism, which has allowed them to casually roll by huge numbers of hindu deaths and at the same time cry rivers of tears when a Muslim dies (like Aryan said), or even burns his lips a little bit when his tea is too hot…
..whoops, I meant agree 1000% with Murali 7:53 and Aryan 8:04
If pragya Singh is linked to BJP and RSS, and if she is really involved, she has done great disservice to cause of hindutva.

‘Sadhvi has nothing to do with BJP’
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Sadhvi_has_nothing_to_do_with_BJP/articleshow/3647814.cms
NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader L K Advani on Monday denied that Sadhvi Pragya, accused of being behind the Malegaon blast, has anything to do with
the party, adding that even if she may have been a ABVP activist at some point or had any association with the Sangh Parivar, she had obviously parted ways and hence had little to do with the saffron party now.
While he had no knowledge of who Pragya was till now, Advani told TOI that it seemed obvious that she would have parted ways with the parivar outfits because her thoughts and methods did not match with those propagated by the organizations which she may have belonged to. This was reason enough for her to move out of them.
Elaborating on the issue, Advani cited the case of Nathuram Godse who killed Mahatma Gandhi on January 30, 1948. “Godse was associated with RSS earlier in his life but left the organization way back in 1934 because he did not agree with its ways,” he pointed out. Even then, RSS was hounded after Gandhi’s assassination. “After all, that was the first time I went to jail as I worked as an RSS pracharak in those days,” he added.
Even organizations disapprove of people who do not fit in with their ways. Just as that was the case with Godse, Pragya’s could also have been the same, felt Advani.
Explaining that there are many people who may follow the same ideology and yet choose a different path, Advani pointed out that naxalites also claim to follow the Marxist ideology just as Left parties like CPM. But they have nothing to do with CPM, CPI or other Left parties which are part of mainstream politics and hence cannot be equated with the underground Red ultras.
Even as television channels may claim that the sadhvi’s links with BJP or other parivar outfits have been confirmed, the BJP central leadership has disowned her. At a juncture when the party is turning terrorism into a major plank for the coming elections, BJP surely is treading carefully on the sadhvi issue.
Advani’ s handling of the issue is perfect. Nothing aggressive and good analogy between Maoists and CPM. Also no unnecessary defence of Sadhvi.
This is the kind of centrist response BJP has to offer on this issue to keep the secular Hindus engaged on the issue of terror.
Congress while attacking the BJP said they do not have the name of a single BJP leader they want investigated. They do not ask for RSS to be banned. Then what are they asking for? Just making awaaz since they cannot tackle terror.
HAPPY DIWALI !!!
WISH ALL OF YOU A VERY VERY HAPPY DIWALI AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.
Hope India will be able to get rid of this communalist and casteist, divisive anti-hindu, minority appeasing, illegal immigrants friendly, soft on terrorism Congress and UPA in the next general election and usher in a new era for a true and egalitarian secular India.
LKA as usual has shown clarify on Saadhvi issue.

AHMEDABAD: A former Congress minister of Gujarat and five others were on Saturday sentenced to 20-year imprisonment for their involvement in an April 1993 bomb blast in Surat, in which a school girl was killed and about 30 others were injured.
Advani brings up a good point. Naxalites are among the deadliest killers in the country, and they share their ideology with comies.
Which brings up the question: is NDTV a channel with terrorist links? Does sauve-looking Prannoy Roy actually have his hands dipped in the blood of innocents? Because, do not forget, he is related to Brinda Karat, who is a top functionary of the Marxist party. Karat and her cohorts routinely appear on NDTV, and get good press. Which is good reason to suspect that NDTV may have terrorist links.
Other commie outfits like The Hindu and Tehelka are not off the radar either. In fact, the latter seems to have links not only with marxist terrorists but with islamist terrorists as well.
These questions need to be posed to corporates who give ad revenue to these extremist media outfits.
I believe intellectual terrorism is more dangerous than physical terrorism

Senior Congress leader, ex-chief justice join BJP
NEW DELHI: The BJP’s attempts to hold on to power in Rajasthan has received a big push with a senior Congress leader, who wields enormous clout amon
g the Brahmins in the Jaipur division, and a retired chief justice of the Gujarat High Court, who belongs to the numerically significant Meena community, joining the party.
Mr Shailendra Joshi, a senior Congress leader who was a cabinet minister in the Ashok Gehlot government, and Mr Yaad Ram Meena, who superannuated as the chief justice of the Gujarat High Court earlier this year, joined the saffron party in Jaipur on Sunday in the presence of chief minister Vasundhara Raje. There are indications that a senior police official belonging to the Meena community too was waiting in the wings to join the party.
The state BJP leaders were jubilant, citing the high-profile joinings as proof that the party’s support-base in the poll-bound western state remained strong. A two-term MLA from Bandikui in the Dausa district, Mr Joshi had lost to the BJP’s Murarilal Meena in the 2003 assembly polls.
His father B N Joshi too was a cabinet minister in the state, and their family reportedly commands a lot of respect among the Brahmins in the Jaipur-Dausa belt. The junior Joshi is tipped to be the saffron party’s candidate from Bandikui.
Party leaders have used the development to argue that their support-base among the Brahmins and the Meenas, who were considered to be traditionally loyal to the Congress, has only grown in the past five years. “Prior to the 2003 assembly polls, the BJP could never breach the 100-seat mark in the 200-strong assembly as the Congress always used to secure the backing of the Brahmins, Jats, Meenas and the other STs.
For the first in the state’s political history, the Jats and the Meenas showed signs of switching their allegiance away from the Congress in 2003 to alternative political platforms, mainly the BJP. There appears to be a further consolidation in this trend,’’ a senior BJP leader told ET.
Earlier this year, former minister Devi Singh Bhati, one of the tallest Rajput leaders in the state, had rejoined the BJP. In the 2003 assembly election, he had contested from the platform of Rashtriya Samajik Nyaya Manch, and still emerged victorious. His re

why are WE defensive on Sadhvi issue?????
Is it NOT a FACT that SALMAN KHURSHID had actually Defended SIMI in the court???
Is it NOT a FACT that Arjun Singh has actually defended the decision of Jamia vc to provide help to terrorist????
SO HAS ANY MEDIA RAISED THIS ISSUE OF CONGRESS LINK WITH SIMI MUSLIM TERRORIST

The below story in Daily Pioneer tells the MOODS of the country toward this govt.
FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD.

Hey Guys,
Commies have Naxals killing their so called enemies
Muslims have a gamut of terrorist organisations killing and bombing innocent Hindus all over India
Christians have a range of Terror organisations in NE killing Hindus
Congress tacitly supports all these groups.
What are Hindus left with? Bricks and broomsticks?
Yes, the first outfit that should be banned is congress. It talks in several tongues. It agreed for the vivisection of this country on the basis of religion still it says that the first claim on all resources on this country should go to Muslims. They got the entire claim on the resources on one third of pre partitioned India. Now the first claim on all resources to Muslims. We are forced to subsidise their Haj pilgrimage and now Jerusalem pilgrimage too. But see what these so called secular fundamentalist fanatic congress do. They and their fellow travellers forcibly take over Hindu temples and loot the money and distribute for the benefit of other religions.
One of their members, who was a minister too, was sentenced to 20 years in jail in terrorist activities. But this congress and their strange bedfellows want Sangh Parivar to be banned. What a perverted thinking. If any outfit which is to be banned first, it is the Congress which has insulted the hindus by filing an affidavit stating that Lord Rama and Ramayana are myths. Their anti-hindu face has come out in the open during the last four years of their rule.
Congress Rajya Sabha MP a Convert Christain Mr.Radha kant Nayak is being searched by Crime BRANCH for Murder of Swami Saraswati.
This is the face of Christain Terror led by Sonia Gandhi another Christain.
SO let congress explain the role of these MP including their own President who are leading Christain Terror in this country.

VERY VERY HAPPY DIWALI
Folks!
It now increasingly looks like the Nun who was allegedly raped in Kandhamal is being deliberately encouraged to voice the most exaggerated falsehoods. Just think, 1) the rape charges came one month after the alleged event, 2) the Nun was untraceable till she appeared before the TV cameras in Delhi. 3) Even though 9 people have so far been arrested, she does not want to come forward for an identification of the perpetrators stating that she does not have faith in the Orissa administration. 4) The Orissa government, on its part, has assured her to hold the identification parade at any place of her choice. 5) From the forensic reports, there is no evidence of rape 6) The Nun merely read out a statement in a press conference and did not take questions 7) According to doctors, she was used to having consensual physical relations.
I seem to remember another such event in the aftermath of the Staines murder when a similar Nun cried “Rape” and it was subsequently established to be false.
The Archbishop of the state also has expressed doubts about the impartiality of the probe and has questioned the intentions of the state government regarding not taking the Christians into confidence while appointing inquiry commissions! Seems like a democratically elected state government has to take approval of the Pope in matters pertaining to administration and law and order.
It is the darkest before the dawn. Very soon, there will be light.
According to some reports in foreign media, the nun claimed that 40 men raped her. I marvel at her ability to kept count in all that distress.
Please try to understand the meaning and philosophy of the broad and holistic word Dharma. Dharma is all-inclusive concept, it is righteousnesss, ethics, truthfulness, honesty, moral values, and all good virtues.
Religion is not dharma. Religion is a narrow dogmatic exclusive word. Dharma-nirpekshata means one who is folloing adharma, that is, taking side not with dharma but adharma.
>But according to rajnath singh it should be pantha-nirpekshata.
Rajnath Singh is merely quoted what is mentioned in the Consitution.
Indira inserted the bogus word called “Secularism” during secularism without any meaning. Our Constitution makers never thought the need of such bogus word, as Indian Culture and civilization inherently based on respecting all. This bogus word must be removed from the Constituion, it only harming the nation and society.
=====
BJP not to misuse the term ’secularism’: Rajnath
He said using Dharma-nirapeksh for Panth-nirapeksh in the Hindi version of the Constitution was also incorrect and unconstitutional. It is not only against all national symbols of India but also against the very basis of real and perpetual ethos of the great nation. India, he said, was always sect neutral country and this was the reason all sects — Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Shakti to Jainism, Sikhism and Bushism co-existed and flourished throughout history without causing any discrimination.
The BJP President also announced that the BJP would never use the word dharma-nirapeksh and the Government should issue a directive prohibiting the use of the word so that the people across the county used this word constitutionally and prevent confusion.
http://news.oneindia.in/2008/06/01/bjp-takes-exception-to-misuse-of-term-for-secularism-1212320072.html
Just curious what kinda nun would have consensual sexual relations with multiple partners, I guess the christian kind? It would just go along with the malayali christian priest that ‘adopted’ 26 year old woman, and how about allegations that indian nuns are used as ‘comfort women’ for italian priests in the vatican! How about a nazi pope that ignores the plight of gypsies roma people in his country, with laws just introduced in italy about finger printing every gyspy child to prevent crime! Shouldnt the pope speak out against the discrimination pagans recieve in his own host country first before worrying about the kandamal forests?
How much of this did jesus preach?
Adding to what Murali and Gujjuman suggested in the previous posts, I think it would be good closer to the election dates we identify 7 to 10 areas closer to people’s hearts and send our e-mails/Sms with bullet pointed ‘Did you know’ type statements. Some issues I can think of if is the UPA secular and why we dont think this is the case. State of Infrastructure, State of Defence, Internal security, Food Security, Anti-majority and appeasement of minorities. If we keep it short, factual and succint I think it could help. This is especially relevant to the educated class as in my humble opinion, the english educated Indians are mostly the one that need help to understand the threat to our culture and religion.
@prashant
BJP and Hindu organizations, Hindus in general need to come out from defensive mentality.
Rajiv (fake) Gandhi was the Congrress head, under whom about 5000 Sikhs were massacred by the Congressi goons, 3000 alone in Delhi within three days. Not a single non-sikh got killed. It was a total massacre. RSS/BJP workers saved many sikh life, even Kushawant Singh saluted this effort. Rajiv justified by saying when big tree falls, earth shakes. Was not Rajiv directly linked to murder of 5000 sikhs?
A Delhi Congress leader (active Congress leader), some Sharma, killed his wife, then cut her into pieces and then put into Tandoor. Why not link this to Congress party?
Congress Rajya Sabha member Radhakant Nayak, alleged villain behind Swami Laxmananda Saraswati’s murder. Crime Branch of Orissa Police looking into the brutal murder, has reportedly listed name of Nayak as an accused, who is very close to Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi for his Church back-ground and searching him in several areas for his role.
Go BJP Go offensive. Calling Hindus as terrorists by Congress and secular brigades, invite a backluash from Hindus. Digvijay Singh tried this game calling Hindus as terrorists in Gujarat assembly election, and it backfired badly.
For some reason apart from Namo and Arun Jaitley, none of the leaders are aggressive to take on the media and perennialy appear as if they are uncomfortable defending their ideology. We need articulate spokesperson for the BJP. The marathi guy who does is a nice chap but can hardly match the Vitriol and falsehood of the secular brigade. Rudy and others shout a lot but are not very articulate. This really needs to change and media has to be handled better. First things first they need to set up a media channel.

>>BJP and Hindu organizations, Hindus in general need to come out from defensive mentality.
Exactly my thoughts! No use playing goody-goody & nice…trying to look for approval of the dhimmi-media as well as their p-sec cohorts! Being nice means, in today’s world, allowing yourself to be rail-roaded, allowing others to walk all over you, allowing others to get away with making a mockery of your beliefs, tradition & culture, allowing yourself to be kicked in the rear time-n-again & failing to retaliate, thereby giving credence to the perpetretors belief that Hindus will just take it lying down! Simple fact is this:
If you don’t respect yourself, nobody is gonna respect you either!
If you don’t stand-up for yourself, nobody is gonna stand-up for you either!
IMO Hindus, for that matter, have failed repeatedly to learn from history, that being nice towards those with jihadi & evangelist mentality, ultimately spells their own (Hindus’) doom…they should always remember the fate of Prithviraj Chauhan, who forgave Mohammed Ghori and the latter repeatedly attacked Delhi till Chauhan fell (albeit with the help of Jaichand, the traitor whose treasonous act changed the destiny of Bharatvarsh forever & whose latter-day avatars we see all around us, firmly ensconced in the seats of power, academia, media & intellectual arena) & took the defeated king with him to Ghazni where as a mark of punishment took his eyes out & put him to death! It was obvious, even to a moron, that Prithviraj paid the price with his life for being nice & forgiving to Ghori.
Oh, btw what about Goa inquisition @ the hands of the followers of RoL! Should Hindus forget that too? Of course, @ their own peril, which is not too far away in case someone is wondering, given the way things have shaped up in the last 4 years of the mis-rule of a Roman Catholic annointed agent, esp within the last couple of months.
Also, how about Muslims having their cake & eating it too…partition for that matter! What purpose did it serve…nothing, nada, squat! Only, Bharatvarsh had one more hostile nation on its western frontier…n btw, not all Muslims left for LoP…majority of them stayed back, n then too in the context of this act of breaking the nation apart, mind u btw, Gandhi, Nehru & Congress alongwith Britishers were equally to blame for this heinous act, can still proudly proclaim to have first access to the resources of the nation! Wow, simply wow!

Real masterminds still at large, sadhvi Pragya a victim: Sena
MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena on Tuesday alleged that Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, arrested in connection with the September 29 Malegaon blasts, was avictim of the “race to claim credit (for cracking the case) among the police force.”
“Police never get their hands on the real masterminds of blasts….They just pick up people at random and parade them before the media and congratulate themselves. This leads to a race to grab credit (for cracking cases),” the party alleged in an editorial in its mouthpiece, Saamana.
“Pragya Singh is a victim of this race to claim credit,” the editorial charged.
It further said that in today’s atmosphere of insecurity, Muslim fundamentalists are to blame if at all a Hindu takes to terrorism.
“If a Hindu organisation is taking on useless secularism, the Anti-Terrorist Squad must not brand it as a terrorist outfit,” it said.
The editorial also condemned the attack by NCP workers on the Vishwa Hindu Parishad office in Nashik in the wake of of the sadhvi’s arrest. “Just because NCP controls the home ministry (in the state), we hope they have not got a license to do what they want,” it said.
“Why did they ever not attack SIMI offices? NCP member advocate Majid Memon defended the 1993 blasts’ accused. Has anybody ever touched him?” it asked.
“Those who put Sadhvi Pragya Singh behind bars and those who attacked the VHP office in Nashik belong to the same club,” the editorial accused.

@sootradhar,
On my visit to holland last year,I was shocked to see ,the place looked like a huge brothel.we Indians may be poor, but give dignity and safety to our daughters.whereas, although called a developed country, holland has legalised prostituition, and when u go to the market side,u will see all along ,small cubicles with glass doors and a semi naked woman behind it,beckoning at the passers-by in vulgar gestures. If this is development that these developed nations boast of,we wud rather stay a developing country!

’small cubicles with glass doors and a semi naked woman behind it,beckoning at the passers-by”
From dark alleys to glass cubicles, that certainly is a development for prostitutes, isn’t it? Imagine a country where even prostitutes feel the development, being one of the most oppressed depressed class that they are, don’t you think even others must be sharing some form of development?
Yossarin & Fellow commentators…
BELATED DEEPAVALI WISHES !
Murali…
Man….numbers are deceptive, dont read much into it.
The general mood of the nation is THROW EM TRAITORS OUT.
What a Diwali we had, their was not shine, this proves, what shape the AAM AADMI is in.
All these arrests of so called HINDU TERRORISTS (WTF), these spate of violence in Maharashtra and Bihar, the Jammu episode, the Indore riots, the karnataka and Orissa issues.
Dont these ring bells, mate: this violence can be defined as:
A. HINDUTVA
B. UN EMPLOYMENT
This will convert into votes for NATIONALIST FORCES. Be focussed and try and talk to as many people YOU KNOW. I dont believe in chain mails etc. Talk to people you know and request them to just go and vote.
Congis are now mulling to hold elections in Feb 2009, they feel that arrest of Kum. Pragya Singh and other people from MP and Maharashtra, has given them some advantage and that they can shirk off the soft on terror tag.
However, typical Congi metality, they forget to see the seething anger the people have for the system.
I am still supremely confident that NDA will form the next government.
Polite:
Do you have a link to the nun’s statements and press conference? If so can u post it?
Murali,
You have made a reasonable analysis on the seat projection. In some states you are overly optimistic in assessing the BJP’s performance. In particular you have given a claen sweep for BJP and its allies in Haryana again your projections for MP , Chattisgarh, Rajasthan , Jharkhand, Orissa ,Punjab and also Bihar are perhaps the most optimistic scenario in the present juncture. As regards AP the BJP in tie up with NTPP may out perform your projections considering that this time there will be a minimum of a four cornered contest in most seats. In TN the situation is still not clear as the alliances my change as D DAY approaches with Vijaykanth likely to be able to rope in all the smaller parties. In Maharashtra the BJP -SS combine will do very well in the Vidharba region but not so well in other areas as Sharad Pawar stll leads there.
I believe that the NDA may end with largest no. of seats for the pre poll formations but without absolue majority. What happens after that is anyones guess.
