It is interesting to note the title of this story which says “Malegaon blast suspects had founded 2 right wing outfits;ATS” is at odds with the text of the story, specifically the categorical clarifications of Mr. Karkare.
“There is no specific organisation to which the three belong though we have found pamphlets of the Jai Vande Mataram Jan Kalyan Samiti which Praggnya Singh founded in 2002″, Joint Commissioner of Police (ATS) Hemant Karkare.
“The Joint Commissioner denied they had found any links between the trio and other right wing groups”.
“Karkare declined to confirm if the trio was involved in the blast in Gujarat Modasa”.
“He denied there was any evidence to show that they were in involved in any previous blasts including Malegaon 2006″.

New Delhi, October 24: BJP today said it was wrong to use the term “Hindu terrorists” for the alleged extremists arrested on charges of the Malegaon blasts and charged “some section” of trying to malign the majority community.
“Some section are trying to malign the majority community. BJP is objecting to the term Hindu terrorists, which is wrong. Nobody is saying that the law must not take its course. No one can say that. A terrorist is a terrorist irrespective of his caste or religion,” party leader Yashwant Sinha said in a press conference in New Delhi on Friday.
“Investigations should happen but the whole majority community is being assailed. We object to the ultra secularists. We object to what Brinda Karat(CPI-M) said in the House on Thursday that it was Hindu terrorism,” he added.
“Vaiko has been arrested because he made a speech in support of LTTE, why haven’t those people been arrested who are speaking in favour of the SIMI,” Sinha questioned.
“This is the level that vote bank politics has reached, by condemning the majority, one seeks to gain the minority vote,” he said.
“It is for government of India to consider a decision in the matter of banning an organisation. If we support the decision we will stand with it,” said Sinha when asked if his party would support banning Hindu outfits which have alleged linkages with the arrested men and women.
One is trying to give a bad name to the majority community just because one or one and a half act. No one has the right to use the word Hindu terrorists, he added.

Hey Nishka, don’t know if u know this but RAW was funding LTTE at one point of time (83-84 to be precise) during IG’s time. LTTE found good support in Europe and Canada – these governments did not stop their fund raising or arms procuring activities until after 9/11, and that too only after the Americans got serious about tracking each and every terrorist group and money laundering.
About an year back there was a report of FBI arresting a key LTTE figure in New York, named Karunakaran. That report mentioned one of the charges was fund raising, and the fund raising events occurred at churches among other places.

The support for LTTE in Tamil nadu is a myth – there is no real support from the people of the state. Some of the rabid groups in TN supporting LTTE have clear anti-Hindu basis (various Dravida groups and dalit groups that are christian). They are very marginal and easy to squash. Jaya, for her other faults, did a good job of keeping them under their rocks. The current CM ofcourse is one among them and has a long history of seditious tendency.

Renaissance in Europe was second major blow to its plans. Church in its anxiety to gain back power and popularity has always used whatever was available to it. In the past it took the help of sea faring European merchants , Portuguese pirates , Colonists, local tyrants, monarchs and politicians to spread. World war II which brought imperialism to an end was the third strong blow to church. Church still uses old ways of wooing leaders, powerful and influential people in Christian minority countries to gain some ground. Thats why we see church influence in LTTE, North East, timur etc. It will stoop to align with anybody available. Indian sub-continent with its large diversity was always a tough nut to crack, Church is sticking to the same old formula of reaching leaders, powerful, wealthy and influential people with belief that populace would follow to save their interests. Raja Ram mohan Roy to current day Pranay Roy are results of this policy. Before Independence, when we were not a democracy and vote banks didnt matter much there was no large scale conversion of tribals and dalits. But now numbers matter and thats why we see Northeast and places like kandhamals in midst of us. Church first converted Namboodiar Brahmins in kerala and immediately large section of population started converting. Even in Bengal and Tamilnadu it was influential well to do forward caste people who laid foundations to the church activities. The guy who first brought organised christianity into Andhra was a brahmin named Rayasam Radha Krishna Murthy. Then they converted Reddys of Rayalseema, an another influential community and large sections of populace followed.This is not finger pointing Brahmins or Reddy blaming particular castes and communities, I am trying to show how the formula works. Try to convince the most influential people in the company on a particular thing and the rest will follow to save their own jobs or interests without protests. Spreading of Christianity works the same way and its a proven formula. I hope it fails in India because of the inherent diversity it carries.

If you look at various case studies, most tribals and backward classes convert only after their local leader accepts Christianity. Radhakant Naik was one such leader who accepted it and many other community members followed. May be if we can get hold of the influential people then I think we can significantly reduce conversions. I am not denying fact that people convert for food, interest free loans and other material benefits but if we can have rich, influential, famous personalities on our side we can reduce the exodus. Its not that Hinduism that is weak, it is Hindu community leaders, celebrities and other influential people that are weak. They do not perform as expected and even get sold letting the whole team down. I think for us to start win we should curb this phenomenon.

I have been following LTTE and Srilankan issue since 1983(when I was 7 years old. too early for a 7 year old). You are right. LTTE has/had many christians in their ranks. For ex Anton Balasingham was one of the examples. Dilipan, Karuna etc are all Chrisitians. they killed Hindu leaders like Padmanabha, Sabarthinam etc.

Comrade ramu, the question really is: between cops and media who should be trusted? I think you’re exhibiting a strange and irrational prejudice against cops, and an equally irrational, blind, dogmatic belief in the media. Cops,as public servants, are accountable, and there’s a system of checks and balances, however faulty, that keeps them under watch. Guj cops are being harassed for eliminating terrorists before they struck. But despite immoral traffic act, did Tejpal do time for exploiting the services of prostitutes? The media is accountable to none, and is increasingly becoming a threat to our rights and freedome, as recently witnessed in a sting op’s instigation of violence against a teacher.
On terrorism issue, trust cops to be true until proved otherwise. And learn generally to distrust the media. In this particular instance, the arrested woman is a hindu terrorist if the cops say so. But looks like the media lied again, which brings up the question: were prostitutes used again? Or is this the work of the punyanis, setalvads and the media’s islamist wing?

There was separatism in early 60′s in TN. CN Annadurai disbanded the idea of separate Dravida Nadu after Nehru passed a law baring parties with separatist ideals to contest elections. DMK won in 1967. Since then Dravidian parties have never lost control of TN. I am seeing that generation fade out. However strong anti-brahmin emtions are alive. Hindus themselves vote DMK.
DMK is at the forefront when giving suport to Chrisitians. they have helped them flourish in south TN. Today the process of reverting to Hinduism is delibrately hindered by DMK. It is giong to take a huge fight to re-establish Hindu values in TN. Christianity is spreading like cancer. all this will help DMK achive its cherished dream of a separate Dravida Nadu.
Recently strong supporters of LTTE in SL issued statements asking Tamils not to worship “North Indian” gods like Lord Ram. Look at the way they fan hatred against the idea of India.
In the current leadership only Jaylalitha is opposed to LTTE. God knows how TN will vote.
SOme Muslims and Christians have joined this support LTTE movement now.

4. when insurgency erupted in J&K, when did no heads roll?? why did we not have any premonition of the same ? were our esteemed intelligence agencies sleeping – IB and RAW??

nope this is nonsense at best. it is true in initial days ltte got help from india but THAT doesn’t MEAN INDIA was ITS MASTER. By the way like other movements it had a totally different structure when it formed and completely morphed later; these things are VERY VERY difficult to predict. Even Europe and US initially supported the eelam initially but later classified it as a terrorist org.

Look, my intention is not to blame the armed services. I respect their sacrifice and their struggle to protect India.But at the same time don’t disrespect the yeoman services of members of RAW whose most accomplishments go unreported because they are classified. After all, a retired colonel or general can happily write memoirs and even make money out of it which unfortunately the distinguished RAW officer can’t even write; worse yet nobody probably knows he even worked in the RAW. Such is the nature of the profession.

I have written this before and writing this again,we need a strong central rule, to teach the states a thorough lesson on the word UNION.
And I believe only the BJP can do this, Ban all regional parties, parties with presence in a minimum of 5 states in the Union of India and with a minimum vote share of say 20% in each of thwe 5 states must be recognized by the election commission.
Any state, I repeat any state even thinking on the lines of over ruling the central government, must be ruthlessly suppressed.
The word of the centre must be final and anybody having any problems with that can go find a choice real estate for themselves in the world.
I firmly believe that we are heading towards such a stituation. Parochial politics will destroy the union . TN and Maharashtra today are the most vocal parochial states in the Union.

Not gonna work. In fact it will have the effect of further alienating the States and increase the secessionist tendencies. Central Govt. should see to it that it DOES NOT neglect any of the STATES and helps in building many of the state’s infrastructure. Wrong move. It is better to have them inside the political process rather than outside and create problems for the country.
@Shanth, I have read that conspiracy theory on Rajiv Gandhi assassination and many such theories are being floated these days to indirectly absolve LTTE. No one will know the actual truth.
