NOTE- There will be a pause in new posts for the next few days as OFFSTUMPED is working on digging something important
Originally appeared on 19th Sept 2007.
How Jobless is the Home Minister ?
apart from of course sponsoring IAF Junkets for his madam
Since Offstumped posted this piece some more findings. The MHA spent 25 crores in 2006-2007 on Civil Aviation all of it was unplanned expenditure, any one’s guess how much of the 25 crores was spent on IAF flights?to ferret Sonia Gandhi to Congress meetings like the one in Chakur, Latur on October 30 2006.?A similar amount was budgeted for 2007-2008.
Consider this Sonia Gandhi was in Srinagar to attend a women’s rally organized by the Congress Party. Unfortunately Sonia Gandhi was to also cut short her trip to rush New Delhi to meet Mexican President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa. How can Sonia do both, well fly the IAF. But there is a catch. She is not entitled to fly the IAF. So what does she do ?
In comes the gutless wonder and showpiece of a Home Minister, Mr. Shivraj Patil.
It looks like gutless wonder Shivraj Patil accompanied her to attend the women’s rally in Srinagar.
Now in yesterday’s post we examined the policy for Other Entitled Persons, OEP, the category to which Shivraj Patil belongs by virtue of being the Home Minister. Based on the OEP 3 questions arise
What official business was the Home Minister attending to at a congress party event in Srinagar
Why did he not use commercial air ?
Has the MHA paid the IAF the cost of flying Sonia Gandhi to a congress party rally in Srinagar ?
Most importantly if it was a Shivraj Patil sponsored IAF junket that Sonia hopped on why are all news reports calling it Sonia’s IAF flight and not the Home Minister’s IAF flight.
In fact so irrelevant was Shivraj Patil’s presence in Srinagar that there is no mention whatsoever in any of the media reports that the near miss mid-air had India’s Home Minister at risk. In fact Offstumped had to literally scrounge news reports to find out which OEP sponsored the Srinagar IAF Junket for Sonia Gandhi only to find Shivraj Patil’s name in the footnotes in some obscure news site.
In fact on Sept 10th the day Shivraj Patil accompanied Sonia to Srinagar there is virtually no soundbite, official release attributed to him for his “official” visit to Srinagar. Neither the Press Information Bureau nor the Ministry of Home Affairs had anything to say about his Srinagar visit. Mr. Patil could have as well been a zombie on this IAF junket to Srinagar and nobody would have missed him it appears.
So how jobless is the Home Minister that he abandons official duty in these testing times of internal security to flout policy and sponsor a IAF Junket so Sonia Gandhi can troop over to Srinagar for a Congress Party function while all this time the Home Minister is merely a mute spectator ?
This is not the first time Shivraj Patil has misused his OEP status to facilitate a IAF flight for Sonia Gandhi. On Jan 12 2006 he accompanied Sonia Gandhi to Kalinga Nagar in an IAF Chopper. On 10 Aug 2006 he accompanied Sonia Gandhi to Amalapuram in an IAF Chopper. October 30 once again he accompanied Sonia Gandhi in an IAF Planer and Chopper to Bidar, Chakur in Latur (Shivraj’s home constituency) to attend a farmer’s rally. None of these IAF Junkets were for Defence purposes. Almost all of them were for Congress Party related activities with the primary focus being on Sonia Gandhi and Shivraj Patil incidentally present.
Shivraj Patil is not the only one sponsoring IAF Junkets for Sonia’s convenience. On 22 Jan 2006 the Prime Minister carried her to Hyderabad in an IAF plane, 2 Feb 2006 another IAF Junket to Bandlapalli in Andhra. Mar 26 2006 Sudheendra Kulkarni writing in the Indian Express during the Office of Profit crisis highlights how Sonia Gandhi had been misusing her Office of Profit through IAF Junkets thrown by Pranab Mukherjee then Defence Minister.
Here is a particularly galling episode that resulted from a Sonia Gandhi IAF Junket. The 10 Aug IAF travel in Andhra resulted in the IAF Choppers not airdropping food for the flood affected. The Times News Network on 12 Aug 2006 carries this story on how flood victims go hungry courtersy Madam’s abuse of the IAF’s vital resources.
More than one lakh flood victims, majority of them tribals in the Bhadrachalam area, were forced to starve for a day when AICC president Sonia Gandhi made a whirlwind tour of the flood-affected parts of Khammam and East Godavari districts on Wednesday
Aug 31 Pranab Mukherjee throws another IAF Junket to Sonia’s benefit to visit Barmer Rajasthan. Nov 4 and 5th Chennai Prime Minister Manmohan Singh hitches Sonia with a IAF ride.
The abuse of the IAF goes on …….
Offstumped Bottomline: Home Minister Shivraj Patil is so jobless that he can fly the IAF for Sonia’ benefit even though he had absolutely no official business transact in Srinagar that was worthy of public mention. He will do so at the expense of the Nation’s Defence Apparatus.
Offstumped poser to the Home Minister: Sir, do you have any self respect left to be taken seriously as the custodian of our Internal Security ?
Offstumped poser to Sonia Gandhi: Madam, do you have such a thing as shame for your blatant misuse of the Indian Air Force and the National Defence Apparatus for your Party Junkets ?

You keep me home minister and i will keep giving you all facilities legal/illegal, borne only by TAX PAYERS money.
Disgusting
What we need today is a ‘Leader’ who will take responsibily for keeping the nation secure and is willing to make sacrifices for that purpose, instead we have a ‘brown sahib’, a willing servent to the ‘Durbar’ in Delhi.
Such a shame.

Government rethinking on anti-terror laws
If the Congress govt had not scrapped POTA, maybe so many lives would have been saved. Maybe it does not matter to them since Hindu lives were lost. However, if a Muslim is detained in Australia, MMS cannot sleep in the night.
I just hope that the terror law they come up is what the law enforcement agencies want.
All my partiotic Indians I wasn’t even a BJP supporter until Gujarat elections in Nov 2008. Now I am an ardent supporter of BJP and Modiji. I never bothered to learn about RSS until then. Now I think and I believe RSS is perhaps the only way we can save ourselves. Hindus in particular do not have a organisation to put forward our collective problems. The following video was an eyeopener to me. Please do experience the same effect after watching this. We should all mobilise ourselves under this organisation.

Shivraj Patil the Scapegoat. Natwar was the scapegoat for UN Iraqi Oil for Food Scandal, where Sonia was involved. Patil has no power to do anything beyond what his Italian Master dictates. But, now election time. That crook woman will make Patil the scapegoat to cover her blood-thirsty face.
We must defeat this anti-national and Hindu Killer Congress. Else, we all have to see our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, relatives teared, mutiliated, and dead bodies. And we will have chance to cry.

Yossarin, E-mail me, If you are in NYC Vicinity on 26th Sep, … I would like to invite you for a program that will certainly interest you.
Most important posts in this government are filled with a bunch of clerks!
MMS is Clerk #1 and Patil is #2.
That really shows the respect Sonia Gandhi has for Indian polity that she doesnt even want to put candidates who think independently into cabinet positions.
Sorry Guys,
I mispoke. It is Lady Janes Lovelies not Lovenest. For all those who do not recall I had mentioned the name of an esteemed “establishment” Antonia Maino worked at prior to marrying Rajiv G.
Below is a write-up by Subramanium Swamy
It has been my as-yet-undenied charge that Ms.Gandhi spent 5 years in London[1963-68] not studying in the University of Cambridge as she had claimed in an affidavit earlier, but working in Lady Jane’s Lovelies– after a month learning English–speaking at a shop called Lennox Cook School now closed] in the city of Cambridge. It is the dubious culture that she learnt at Lady Jane’s Lovelies which made her overturn the Maharashtra government’s ban on bar girls from Bangladesh performing in Mumbai and also sanction the disgusting display in her constituency. India’s civilisation is under threat from Ms.Sonia Gandhi and her Italian ex-Nazi fascist family. The voters of Rae Bareli should thus save India on May 8th.

“UPA Govt cripples India’s missile programme”
Pioneer, Sep 17, 2008
PTI | New Delhi
Taking the BJP’s charge against the UPA Government over India-US civil nuclear deal a step forward, senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh on Tuesday alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has crippled India’s missile development programme by committing to the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) in two letters to US President Bush early last week.
Singh also sought the PM’s explanation claiming he owed one to Parliament.
“President Bush has recently informed the US Congress of India’s formal commitment to the MTCR. This was done by the (Indian) Ministry of External Affairs in separate letters on September 8 and 9, 2008.
“This, to say the least, is an alarming announcement. When was the decision made by the UPA Government of virtually abandoning the country’s decades-old indigenous programme of missile development?” Singh, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha said here.
“In formally committing in writing its adherence to the MTCR, Manmohan Singh has crippled, forever, the country’s missile development programme. This is a step that follows the already revealed crippling of the nation’s nuclear programme by this Government,” he said in a statement here.
Jaswant claimed that the MTCR made it mandatory upon its adherents to restrict the development of missiles, complete rocket systems, unmanned air vehicles and related technologies and that the regime limits payloads to 500 kg and range to just 300 km.
http://www.dailypioneer.com/indexn12.asp?main_variable=FLASH&file_name=cap1%2Etxt&counter_img=1
WHat is Jaswant talking about?
MTCR restricts export of missile tech but has no curbs on indigenous R&D. In any case, India has never ever violated the MTCR export control guidelines itself.
The BJP can do better than make such attacks which are easily taken apart! There’s so much more to attack this sarkar over. Why bother with windmills??
Boss: You are WRONG on this post. ALL Cong leaders are spineless and will give lift to Sonia.
There is a possibility that Patil will be sacrificed to SAVE SONIA’S IMAGE. However, fact remains: ITS SONIA WHO IS BEHIND THIS MESS IN INDIA VIS-A-VIS TERRORISM.
Cong’s pet media is trying to create good cop, bad cop out of selective news that some COngmen are opposing Patil, or for Afzal’s hanging.
BE CAREFUL.
Shri Advani shd now take center stage, AND HIT THE PRIME MINISTER.

The record of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation
If one went by her record in running the Rajiv Gandhi foundation, the evidence is quite plain and visible. The Rajiv Gandhi foundation is one of India’s most well endowed Indian NGOs. But unlike even the most mediocre of Indian NGOs it has done little to help India or Indians, even in a small way. Unlike rural NGOs that try to run village schools, or educate villagers about watershed management or animal husbandry, the Rajiv Gandhi foundation has never done anything of the sort. Unlike NGOs that try to promote sustainable technologies in order to conserve scarce resources, or NGOs that try to promote clean air or clean water by fighting for stricter pollution laws, the Rajiv Gandhi foundation has never taken up such causes. Unlike NGOs that champion the rights of India’s homeless children or child labourers, the Rajiv Gandhi foundation has done little to promote the cause of India’s most desperate and most vulnerable. But be that as it may. After all, in the new dispensation of things, the poor and helpless don’t really count.
But does India’s middle class count? According to recent press reports, the Rajiv Gandhi foundation has not even done what some charitable institutions and trusts have been doing for years in India – supported talented individuals from India’s middle class. It has never offered grants to a talented Indian scientist, or artist, or musician or sports person. It has not even offered it’s assistance for research into diseases that mostly hit the rich and middle class, such as cancer or heart disease.
It is not as if the Rajiv Gandhi foundation has not spent any money. It has simply not found any Indians or Indian causes to spend it’s money on. But it has found several needy individuals to support in the richest and most heavily armed nations on this planet.
It has found artists and intellectuals from the EU, Japan and the US (of dubious merit, and little value to India) to sponsor. It has held elaborate exhibitions of tasteless avant-garde arts and crafts, and textiles from nations that constantly lecture India on opening up it’s economy. Nations that put quotas on high quality Indian exports. Nations that couldn’t compete with India during the 18th century on the basis of fair trade. Even the most biased of Indians will acknowledge that in the realm of the arts and crafts, India has little to learn from the industrialized nations. Although she has laid claims to t
Nishka I agree
Why recently Lara Dutta was given an award by the Rajiv Gandhi foundation for, hold on to your chair, her contribution to Indian cinema along with Saif Ali Khan. Vir Sanghvi was also awarded for his contribution to the field of journalism.

No one in the media is talking about the evangelical mischief behind the violence.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Bangalore/Contain_violence_say_BJP_bosses_/articleshow/3492059.cms
BJP sources said the Karnataka violence had essentially involved activities of some evangelist groups that had appeared recently and were funded aggressively. They were using prayer halls, rather than establishing churches, and had clashed with local saffron activists. The violence had, however, swept up other older churches and spread over the past few days.
Well if the spineless, gutless, clueless, toothless, and above all absolutely worthless HM had even an iota of self-respect he would have quit long time back, without waiting for explicit orders from Her Majesty, the Self anointed Queen of India, mother of the heir apparent Sri Sri Rahul Babaji.
Also, the congress in order to insulate their top brass, have come up with another appalling idea. Now they dont need to dump Shivraj. Instead they plan to carve out a new ministry out of the Home affairs department – Ministry of Internal Security – and hand it out to one of the bright young kids, they apparently have. So with this, Madam is no longer embarrassed, the PM can continue to sleep, the dapper Shivraj would be happy to get back to his job of ferrying Madam and the country comforted that terrorism would be tackled with new energy. The only problem is of course, that somewhere in the interiors of Azamgarh, SIMI activists might already have found a new target to carry out their attacks. Life just goes on…
Now even NDTV is questioning Congress, SP on votebank politics on the issue of terrorism.
They are saying whether the new measures the Govt is contemplating on combating terror are just political posturing.
Kya zamana aa gaya.
BJP has to keep Congress on the defensive since any steps Congress takes is because of political considerations and not any genuine desire to combat terror.
There will be a pause in new posts for the next few days as OFFSTUMPED is working on digging something important
WAITING FOR THAT IMPORTANT DIGGING.
@NISHAKA,
You has raised a very important subject @ Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.
YOSS WE EXPECT FROM YOU ON THIS AFTER ALL HUGE PUBLIC MONEY HAS BEEN GIVEN TO THIS FOUNDATION.
AS SAID NOTHING IS FREE IN THIS WORLD SO IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHO ARE THE CORPORATE CONTRIBUTOR/PRIVATE CONTRIBUTOR IN THIS FUND.
HOW MONEY WERE UTILISED BY THIS FOUNDATION ALSO TO NOTE THEY ARE OCCUPYING A PRIME PROPERTY FREE OF COST IN NEW DELHI ITSELF.
WONDERING WHY NO STING OPERATION ON THIS FOUNDATION TILL DATE?????????
Any idea where is that Clown VINOD MEHTA??????
Lately he was criticising UPA & sonia and now a days NOT seen in debate in tv.
VHP doing good work in Karnataka,
Vicky Nanjappa, normally anti-Hindu writes that forcible conversions are the reasons for the violence in Karnataka. Local people know that forcible conversions are happening and that is what has caused the issue. Actually, this is the only report I have seen in English media which mentions this clearly.
Political parties that are calling for banning Bajrang Dal and VHP are implicitly supporting conversions even forcible conversions.
http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/sep/17mang1.htm
VHP hopes to win back Mangalore’s neo-converts
It was an issue waiting to explode. Although there was talk about forcible conversions in Karnataka, things had not taken such a drastic turn until Mangalore burnt for three days in a row. Not only Mangalore, but incidents of Hindu activists desecrating churches and places of worship were reported from Udupi, Chickmagalur and also Davangere.
According to the Bajrang Dal, nearly 15,000 people have been forced to embrace Christianity in Mangalore alone in the past one year. They said they have been watching the situation and had even warned against forcible conversions, but no one paid heed to their advice.
While the Catholics have openly condemned forcible conversions, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has embarked upon a mission called as reconversion. The VHP claimed they have managed to re-convert at least 50,000 persons in Karnataka alone.
The VHP has set up a team that is actively involved in reconversion. This team is assigned the task of visiting the houses of persons who have converted to Christianity. They meet with these persons regularly and convince them to come back to their original faith.
Once these persons are convinced that they want to return to their original faith, then a priest from the Veerashaiva mutt visits the house and performs a ritual called as the ‘Ling Dharana’. A VHP leader told rediff.com that they focus more on persons who have been converted recently through inducements. Those who have embraced the religion voluntarily many years back are not the target here.
It is said that conversions are highest in the north Karnataka regions of Bijapur where the Lambanis and other tribals have been converted. Apart from this, conversions are also rampant in Mangalore and the Hyderabad-Karnataka region, according to Hindu activists.
Recoversion movement taking root in Karnataka. Thanks to VHP.
‘Inducements lure poor to convert’
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Inducements_lure_poor_to_convert/articleshow/3491637.cms
BANGALORE: Raju Gouda of Ucchangi Durga in Davanagere district has changed his religion twice, but not his name. He was born a Veerashaiva and converted to Christianity in his 20s.
A few years later, he met VHP volunteers who were involved in reconversion. He came back to Hinduism after a few meetings with them. Now, Gouda leads the re-conversion movement.
Similar is the case of many others. “The reconversion movement is slowly taking root across Karnataka. We have already succeeded in bringing back over 50,000 converts,” said Ga Ra Suresh, who oversees VHP’s Paravarthana movement.
He is convinced that none of the reconverts have gone back to Christianity. To him, the process is not reconversion. “We call it mainstreaming,” he added. Paravarthana focuses on the recent convert. “We are not bothered about Christians who have been converted centuries ago. They embraced that faith under different socio-political conditions. Christian beliefs and practices are ingrained in them. We don’t touch them. Our primary targets are those who have been converted by inducement, or under duress, in recent decades,” Suresh said.
According to him, Protestant para-church organizations like the New Life institution (that was targeted in Mangalore and Chikmagalur) are into large-scale illegal conversions. “Such organizations can’t be called churches. They are run by salaried employees whose job is proselytizing,” he said.
According to him, such people are more likely to become the targets of attacks by rightist organizations, rather than priests. They choose particular caste groups in different districts.
In Hyderabad-Karnataka region, they target Madigas (scheduled castes). In North Karnataka districts like Bijapur and Gadag, they have converted Lambanis, and in Bagalkot and Dharwad districts, Kurubas have been converted.
“Most of the time, they use a neo-convert to carry on conversions,” he said. According to him, converts are induced with land, free education for children and other gifts like sewing machines. “Most conversions happen in hospitals. The poor who are denied quality healthcare are impressed by the way missionary hospitals are run. They become easy targets,” he said.
He does not completely accept the argument that low caste Hindus

And where is ‘Yuvaraj’ Rahul. For the (alleged) future Prime Minister of India, shouldn’t he be contributing his bit in helping our country in such crisis? Am pretty sure he’s holidaying somewhere outside the country (Italy maybe?) while our country burns.
Interestingly we only get to see and hear him a lot when the times are good, but when the circumstances are challenging, this guy conveniently disappears. Wonderful leadership!

The title of your mail is so appropriate! She cannot dump Shivraj in public. Stink within her er… inner circle has created enough rancor to bring it out in public. Besides, he is her free ticket on IAF planes. But does he have any shame, being treated the way he is?

Junior is well and kicking in Delhi. Though I stopped covering him on my channel all the time. That would send a wrong signal that my channel is pro-Congress. It, as a matter of fact, is not. My channel stands for the democratic liberal values espoused by the greatest ever Indian PM Pt. Nehru. Anyway, Vineet other day, while we were having a chat, said he was going to cover Junior extensively from now till next election. For the guys contemplating, on the blast day Junior was busy watching and cheering the movie Rock On exclusively screened by Javed saab, Shabanaji and Arjun Rampal for Junior, his sister and that funny henpecked guy. You can see the details in next day’s TOI (sorry, I can’t give the link of my competitor)

Don’t be surprised if Shivraj Patil stays on, says N.V.Subramanian
16 September 2008: While Shivraj Patil is undeniably destroying the future electability of the Congress party and the UPA government, replacing him without disturbing the fine balance that Sonia Gandhi has crafted amongst top cabinet ministers, including prime minister Manmohan Singh, is no easy task.

We have to moblise people and if you are from TN please let me know if we can meet after 18 Oct 2008.

Shanth…
Shanth, currently i am not in TN.
Yes, we should ‘what-ever it takes’ to protect our glorious nation from the scum and scourge of Pseudo-secs
A lot of people are becoming aware and thinking on the same nationalistic line of thought now. The org which accept donations easily outside India are SEWA and others.
Hence, i would like you and everyone to suggest some nationalist organisations, so that the people at home who want to contribute in terms of money can do so.
Also, Pseudo-secs who try to make fun of hinduism must also be brought in the open, esp. in TN. Please read this blog to know how Viduthalai ( mouthpiece of dravida kazagham) and others are making mockery of the religion.

@Shanth, SK
I can feel there’s a good under-current pro-BJP and anti-incumbancy wave in TN now. With a good partner there, we can win upto 6 seats on our own. Hosur, Coimbatore, Srirangam, S Chennai, Thirunavukkarasar seat, Tirunelveli and one in coastal south have bright chances.
I heard that the subscriptions for Cho’s Thuglak is increasing also among “non-urban-Hindu” audience.

As a maharshtrian I apologize to all India for giving our country such an useless gutless maratha in charge of nation’s security.
He is one of those extrememly rich landlords in maha’s green belt joining politics, winning elections using money and reaching delhi. I remember when he used to contest local MLA elections in pune. A totally talentless man(?) always remaining under the shadow of then senior congressi junkis in maha. Similar background and story for our current prez. very unfortunate for India where such people now are destroying our great land, culture and heritage.
Shanth, sent.
Sorry for the delay.
Lets share some ideas.
Thanks, sk
