War on Terror – Narendra Modi gets it

Two more live bombs discovered in Surat taking the count to 20.? Nitin over at the Acorn higlights how the public-police partnership made a difference in averting what would have otherwise been a tragedy of untold magnitude for the people of Surat.

Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP Leader Narendra Modi who was the first to call the attacks for what they really were has once again demonstrated why he gets how the War on Terror must be conducted.

Modi, who arrived in Surat this morning, announced a reward of Rs 51 lakh for information leading to the terrorists involved in the Ahmedabad serial blasts and the planting of bombs in Surat

But most importantly here is why Narendra Modi gets it (note no Indian media house has carried Modi’s remarks verbatim in to-to, they have all released bits and pieces diluting his message, only the BBC has carried the fully sentences).

“We are fighting a proxy war and people, government, media, opinion makers, etc should come together to create awareness and work together to fight this war,”

There are certain rules of a war and if we do not fight, then terrorists will continue to attack us,”

Offstumped Bottomline:? Manmohan Singh celebrates India’s resilience as Indians rue his pusillanimous pestilence. That about sums up the past 5 days since the current wave of terror started and the Manmohan Singh Government continues to be spineless and utterly clueless in its response. With an ostrich like?mindset??that has their heads stepped in the sand of toothless Laws and no Order, Manmohan and Shivraj continue to remind us why they are incapable of fighting this War as called for by Narendra Modi.

    bhanu,

RK Bajaj was the only media person who was wholeheartedly supporting the anti-reservationists during their struggle 2 years ago. And thats when I realised that here was the guy with a difference.

His take on the Ram Sethu, Afzal, anti-reservation movement etc is spot on, though he does occasionally take on VHP activisits rather aggressively when they attack “innocent” Christian missionaries. ;-)

Surprising that he runs a channel which is owned by a SP financier!

  2. Congress and communists have ruined and divided this country many times. They can sell india nay even their mothers and sisters for their intersts and votebank and to appear as SICKULAR.Dont forget to defeat them in this election.

CLEARLY BJP HAS GOT ITS PANTS WET !!

Fact is BJP still fear of “spin” done by MSM as happened with Sohrabuddin.
LET BJP understand that People Of India too feel the same as said by Sushma.

LET MSM/CONGI raise this issue vigourously as MORE they raise this issue People get convinced of Sushma Statement.

    >>Fact is BJP still fear of “spin” done by MSM…

@Prashant…thats why BJP needs to take the bull by its horns and strike where it hurts the most! In this context, the approach adopted by M.o.D is perfect…he doesn’t give a damn about what the ELM/MSM writes…and refuses to be drwan into futile arguments about why he doesn’t talk about Muslims…as if only Muslims matter in this country…the rest all can take a backseat…its their ‘feelings’, its their ‘agenda’ (or their leaders’), its their ‘rights’…that triumph the security, the well-being, the prosperity of this country…the rest of you guys…all can take a hike. The MSM/ELM & its allies in the political arena give the impression, esp from Muslim perspective, that ‘its either my way or highway’, and sadly Muslims in general & their so-called leadership in particular has taken no steps to put an end to this gameplaying on their behalf by the ’sickularists’ of all hue & colors!

“UP police let go suspect under pressure”

    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/UP_police_let_go_suspect_under_pressure/articleshow/3312251.cms

    Excerpt:

On July 26, Jaipur police picked up Abdul Mateen, a teacher at Madrassa Jamia-Asharfia in the Madanpura locality of Varanasi. About an hour after the police team left with Mateen, hundreds of locals took to the streets saying he had been kidnapped by the cops. The Varanasi police tracked the Jaipur police team near Kanpur and asked them to bring back Mateen as the pressure of protest was fast spinning out of their control.

On the surety of SP MLA of Varanasi City (North) Abdul Samad and Varanasi chief mufti Abdul Batin, who guaranteed Mateen would be available to police for quizzing, Jaipur police had to let go Mateen.

The point is that the Cops in India, do have a thankless job and I dont believe that all of them behave in a shady manner.

It is such incidents which demoralizes the Cops.

There are so many such incidents, I pasting another one here ( cant find the link ):

    1.Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai.
2.Bomb Blasts (2006) accused are being shifted to various other prisons in Maharashtra.
3.They refuse and the Cops under orders force them.
4.They chant anti India slogans and fight back.
5.The Cops crack down hard on them and finally shift them as per orders.
6.The SECULARISTS cry foul and now the government orders an inquiry.

    Here read the article:
Jail clash: Court orders magisterial inquiry
    TIMES NEWS NETWORK
Mumbai: A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Thursday ordered an inquiry by the chief judicial magistrate into a prison clash that took place in June, in which 31 inmates of Arthur Road jail, including the accused in the 7/11 blasts case, were injured during a clash with jail employees.
The incident occurred on June 28, when the prisoners were to be transferred to different jails across the state. In an affidavit filed in the Bombay high court on the same issue, prison superintendent Swati Sathe said some of the accused refused to leave their cells when they were to be transferred to other jails in Maharashtra.
The affidavit went on to say that when around 19 inmates were gathered to be transferred, they started shouting anti-India slogans and began assaulting the jail staff. The accused reportedly shouted, “Pakistan zindabad. Hindustan murdabad.’’ Sathe said that “a reasonable amount of force’’ had to be used by the jail staff to bring the situation under control. The prisoners were later shifted to jails in Nagpur, Kolhapur and Ratnagiri.
However, when the inmates were produced in MCOCA court, which is hearing their trial, they said that they had been assaulted by the jail officials.
The MCOCA court has now ordered an inquiry into the incident by the chief judicial magistrate who will submit his report to the court within four weeks.

How do you expect the Cops to dis charge their duties in event of such shady happenings.

This article by Swapan Dasgupta appeared in the aftermath of the Jaipur blasts, however it is a must read:

“Inside the cubbyholes of terror and death”

    http://www.newindpress.com/sunday/colItems.asp?ID=SEC20080525003554

    Some Excerpts:

“The capitulation has been shamefully brazen. In trying to combat the so-called majority prejudice, the UPA government has gone out of its way to assert that terror suspects shouldn’t suffer any discrimination. The architect of the Coimbatore bomb blasts, for example, turned his prison cell into a massage parlour before the authorities engineered his acquittal.”

“The convicted perpetrator of the attack on Parliament idles away his time in prison with the gleeful knowledge that the government lacks the anatomical wherewithal to carry out the punishment awarded to him by the courts.”

“For the English-language TV channels, the so-called “spirit of Mumbai” or the tale of Jaipur’s “resilience”, is invariably contrasted with the savage response of Gujarati Hindus to the carnage in Godhra.”

“Just look at the Centre’s anger at the Rajasthan government’s decision to deport illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. If people have entered India without valid papers, they deserve to be expelled whether Bangladesh likes it or not. The compulsion is greater if it is established that Bangladeshi ghettos have served as sanctuaries for HUJI and other terror groups. Yet, just days after the outrage there is liberal clamour to keep many corners of Rajasthan forever Bangladesh. ”

“Anti-terrorism strategies in India are hamstrung by the support networks of terror enjoying political protection. “

  14. Mihir says:

    @ Aryan
BJP’s slogan for 2009 should be what Bush used against the democrats in 2004

“Vote for Congress and the terrorists win”

I dont know if Ms Swaraj did the right thing, but in the end things turned out alright. By putting a viscous charge out there, and then retracting it by saying its only my opinion, not the party’s, that was smart politics.

[b] i agree. The BJP has to be proactive on the issue of terrorism instead of being passive by being embarrassed of what Sushma said.
Clear cut slogans such as above are needed to pass the message across the nation in a simple manner. Infact they can turn Sushma’s gaffe into an advantage , saying she was disturbed by the apathy of the Manmohan Govt [?] towards deaths of its own countrymen at the hands of the terrorists. they can say ” Sushma said something wrong , & we regret it .. BUT it cant be worse than they manner in which the Govt is compromising on security to play vote bank politics ”

Offence is the best form of defence . This is what Modi has applied so far. I hope he does it now aswell

  21. I strongly feel that corrupt politician must go and all effort should be made by people to identify and remove them . Then only we can take bold step against terrorist group active in Pakistan and elsewhere. Gongress is most communal part and claiming as secular , then why reservation and why not every where merit is given preference. In order to achive best we must support merit to select and elect people in every where.
The present minister of Aviation is responsible for mass loosing job from agencies due airlines have removed the commision and violated the IATA Norms. The para 9 of IATA appointment reads they agents will be allowed to get commission/remunaration which time to time may vary. but no where in appointment said that they will remove commission. I Wish Mr.P.Patel should make a statement for Air India on This. Why Lapse in giving correct information as above. It Is more serious than terrorism.
