Every time we have had serial attacks of mass terror Offstumped has laid out the deep malaise that we suffer from on account of an electile dysfunctional Prime Minister in Manmohan Singh who did not walk the talk on anti-terrorism, an incompetent Home Minister in Shivraj Patil who still does not get how to deal with Terrorism, and a sphinx like silence from Congress President Sonia Gandhi who stands guilty of a Conspiracy Silence on Terrorists and Muslim appeasement on Anti-Terrorism laws.
So as the alarming events unfold in Bangalore, Offstumped would only like to highlight the choice of the blast sites – Lanford Road, Richmond Road, Sarjapur Road, Adugodi, Madiwala amongst others. All of these sites share 2 aspects – proximity to Muslim concentration areas and proximity to Information Technology business centers especially of Wipro amongst others.
Offstumped had earlier in posts on the hunt for the unknown radical and on why muslim targets of mass terror had speculated on the growing tussle for the soul of Islam in india. The choice of sites and proximity to Wipro offices has a sublte message for the modern minded Indian Muslim symbolized by Azim Premji who participates in the Knowledge Economy unmindful of any of the baggage of pan-Islamic causes.
Offstumped Bottomline: The new BJP government in Karnataka has its task cut out in investigating these blasts but as highlighted earlier the problem is national and deeper and there is little to be expected out of Bangalore that has not been achieved in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai?and elsewhere. This malaise needs a federal response and that wont be forthcoming till that tainted appointed Prime Minister and idiot of a Home Minister run affairs at the center. Anti-Terrorism needs a National Satyagraha, is the BJP up to the challenge.

All NDA states should coperate with each other in the fight of islamic terror.For this there should be a permanent joint mechamism to share data andintelligence.The state prosecutors ahould also work together closely to get more succesfull convictions.
Quite simply, reality is un-sexy. But it is reality. And the reality is that investigations and prosectutions have been lacking in terror related cases under this sarkar.
Ideally, sarkar has to be separated from the investigating agencies to assure ‘no-undue-influence’. Too much to expect zero influence, but enough checks and balances are needed to have genuinely independent professional, federal investigators.
The election commission is shining example of the fact that a truly independent institution, even one that severely affects political fortunes, is possible to create and operate in India.
At the same time, need to ensure no overzealousness in framing evidence or hounding suspects unless they’re proven guilty in court. Also no underzealousness in pursueing suspects out of political or vote-bank considerations. Tall call, I agree. But possible, I think.

That single terrorist attack was perpetrated by 1500 terrorists, hence the retaliation claimed 900 people. Moreover the Congress and the media initially supported those 1500 terrorists. If as many terrorists were known to be involved in any of the subsequent attacks, and had Congress and the media supported them, you bet the consequences would have been the same.
It’s not Modi that made the difference, but

And be open and unsparing while doing so. Demand that muslims renounce the tenets of bloodletting of nonbelievers. Demand that islam be exposed to the same critical scrunityas other faiths. It’ll be a start. I know it takes patience, perseverance and self-control to go that path. And that is decidedly unsexy. But for a change, there’ll actually be a chance that Indic culture and faith may reclaim many a lost soul whose ancestor was converted by brigands at knife-point. Think about it!
