Hot off the press, an interview with B.S. Yedyyurappa by rediff.com
It appears that the BJP has got the message, excerpts from the interview below
What will be the prime focus of the BJP if voted to power in Karnataka?
Development, development and development. We have a separate plan for Bangalore and the rest of Karnataka. Bangalore is congested and it seems investors are shying away from here. We need a better plan for Bangalore. For the rest of the state, we have an entirely different plan. We plan to provide more infrastructure to rural Karnataka and bridge the divide in society. There are a lot of expectations and responsibilities and we will fulfill each one of them. I want to make Karnataka a model state.
We want to start afresh and keep the past at bay as we need to progress.
We do not need the miseries of the others to win elections. We have the capacity to do so based on our own achievements.

I think along with concentrating on banglore, the government should not ignore the rural and the so called ‘urban’ areas in the state..Apart from bangalore and a few places like mangalore, mysore, karnataka has very few developed cities and towns..They should concentrate on development of even the tier II and III cities like Belgaum,Hubli,Gulbarga,Davangere,Bellary etc along with the capital and not to forget the most important is the development of rural areas..I think first priority should be rural areas..
@Vivek: I think the post is arguing for more autonomy. Basically different regions of the State have more political freedom to implement their priorities, instead of the current model where resources are allocated from a central point.
That means Mangalore, Bangalore, Gulbarga etc can compete with each other trying to attract investment, uphold social justice, or whatever. Money and natural resources can be developed and spent locally instead of petitioning the State government for hand outs.
Great Yedurappa and the BJP have woken up….Hope tey implement what they have said and Bangalore will prosper further….
Well….Being a Bombayite, I hope this GOOD VIRUS spreads to our lands tooo!!!!!
