FRESH UPDATES BELOW ON POLICE COMPLICITY?
ALSO SEE BELOW BIMAN BOSE’ REVENGE THEORY, SOUND FAMILIAR !
NDTV Reports:
30-year-old Manasi Das, in an advanced stage of pregnancy, was holding on to her four-year-old daughter Shiuli when two bullets pierced her thighs Tuesday. She hasn’t seen her daughter since. ”Shots were being fired from Khejuri since early morning. From 8 am the shouts of CPI(M) workers drew near. I was hurrying out of the house with my daughter,” Manasi told a Kolkata daily from the Tamluk Hospital. ”My husband Swapan had our six-year-old son Soumen with him. I was hit in the legs and collapsed. I have not met my daughter or any of my other family members since,” she said.
The parallels of Manasi Das’ harrowing experiences with those of Bilkis Bano in Gujarat are striking. The only difference is Manasi Das is Hindu not Muslim and the attackers CPI-M workers not Hindutva’s foot soldiers. So neither the NHRC nor the left of center mainstream media are screaming aloud on the havoc being wreaked by the CPI-M in West Bengal.
Consider what is going in Nandigram and then reflect on how little outrage is being expressed across the Nation.
200 CPI(M) men from Khejuri armed with long-range rifles, single-barrel guns, pipe guns and bombs Tuesday crossed the Talpatti canal at Bahargunj and attacked Satengabari, Brindabanchowk, Jambari, Girirbazar, Keyakhali, Simulkunda, Saifullachowk and Raynagar villages of Nandigram
”It is a planned attack. The CPI(M) has assembled its armed supporters to mount the attack with the backing of the Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) and crush the opposition,” said West Bengal Public Works Department Minister Kshiti Goswami who belongs to the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), an ally of the CPI(M) in the government.
”About 2,000 people, largely Bhumi Uchched Pratirodh Committee (BUPC) supporters, are homeless. The CPI-M has gained ground in Maheshpur and adjoining areas of Nandigram. Many CPI-M supporters have returned home,” Roy said.
Now if you were wondering who this Roy is providing a blow by blow account of what looks like a war zone be prepared to be surprised. That was the West Bengal Home Secretary Prasad Ranjan Roy. If in Gujarat we have innuendo and slander on alleged nexus between the State, the BJP?and the rioters on acts of violence, in West Bengal you have the top bureaucrat going on record that the ruling party has literally waged acts of war against the people. The top bueraucrat’s comments are corraborated by a serving Minister in the West Bengal Cabinet.
Yet we see none of the outrage or demands for CBI enquiries, arrests and imposition of President’s Rule.
Instead what do we have from the suave Jyoti Basu who loses no opportunity to remind us of how civilized he is and how uncivilized those opposed to his ideology are.
”I have told the chief minister (Buddhadeb Bhattacharya) to postpone deployment of central forces in Nandigram. Instead, we have asked him to arrange an all-party meeting to restore peace in troubled areas. If needed, we can talk to Mamata Banerjee again though previous all-party peace talks failed,”
Offstumped Bottomline: The CPI-M is guilty of waging war on the people of Nandigram. This is a moment of truth for the sanctimonious mainstream media and the conscientious NHRC. Will they hold Buddha to account for having willingly looked the other way as his party waged war in Nandigram.
Do they have the moral courage and intellectual clarity to do what is right in the face of what is real and damning evidence
Or
Is their selective outrage reserved exclusively for the BJP and Narendra Modi on the basis of innuendo, slander and hearsay.

Times of India reports that the . The Nandigram police station officer-in-charge, Sampak Chaudhury, said he had been ordered by East Midnapore SP not to send in forces
The Hindu quotes Biman Bose offering a familiar “revenge theory”, only that until recently the Left was critical of such rationalizations in Gujarat.?

Dear Sir,
I am very happy to read the comparison between bengal CPIM and Gujarat. But you have done mildly. I feel this comparison is no match.
Bengal CPIM is much more ruthless and strategic than BJP cadre of Gujarat. In Gujarat media can go everywhere, ask any people and report it. In bengal media, people are not allowed to visit the troubled place and write against anything CPIM.
In Gujart, BJP worker just do not want to give any special favor to Muslim bcause they beleive that it is their country and they are qual to hindu majority, so no apeasement. But In bengal, if you do not support CPIM, you are in receiving end of you life, in terms of livelihood, then slowly you will come back under CPIM hold. In CPIM’s view is is either ‘we’ or ‘you’.
My home town is in bengal and seen the tactic of CPIM student leader in Burdwan university and also my village. I have also later seen Gujarat riot in 2002. Meida was fully allowed everyehere in Guajat.
Please ask NDTV could they able to enter in ‘Khejuri’. Please ask Rajdeep sardeshai to visit ‘Khejuri’, I watched his coverage from Guajarat, he went freely anywhere there.
In a sense in Bengal only CPIM is the party and in rural area other party are no match to CPIM, they do not have money power and muscle power to match. Nandigram people know it, so they are putting their best effort, but I did not hope Nandigram people will succeed to do it for long because CPIM party has support of state and all Indian so called liberal media who dwill telecast only mildly CPIM’s missdeed, Even Anandabazar ptrika doing it, Yesterday they did not publish complete press meet of home secretary where he speak against CPIM, today they forced to write on it becuase of Biman Bose’s reply to home secretary. Ok Anandabazar has lost its credibility long time before in bengal people’s eye.
These media reports are amusing…rural Bengal seems to be turning into some sort of civil war zone, with reports of CPM “Soldiers” fighting against and invading opposition “Soldiers”. Too bad Mamata Banerjee is just as nuts, if not worse than the commies, and the Congress in Bengal is chock full of commies…that state has no future.
Malay, freedom of media is not permitted in Communist-ruled nations, so how can you expect it in WB or Kerala? Except in China and other nations, they actually respect some human rights.
“If someone comes to attack, one can wait for some time but can one do so for eternity?” He added: “When… pushed to the wall one has to protect oneself in self-defence.”
Were it not for the reference and context, one might as well attribute this quote to a Sangh Parivar activist!
>>Were it not for the reference and context, one might as well attribute this quote to a Sangh Parivar activist!
Which seems a CPIM supporter’s way of justifying the massacres being perpetrated by the West Bengal government.
Mr. Janpar,
We, urban people may think Mamata banerjee is as nut as CPIM, but to oppose to CPIM you have to have some vocal and arrogant attitude, which is not sofisticated, what we urban people like to listen and see. But we need hundreds of Mamata to match with CPIM. Since congress support CPIM (especially Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and Soumen Mitra) it has lost its relevence in bengal long ago.
yes I do agree that Mamta don’t always take politically right path, like leaving central ministry when it was good for her image building. Her party do not visit rural bengal regulary, But could it be done easily? beacuse it involves lots of money and muscle, which oppostion party do not get easily in bengal.
I can’t disagree with you there, no one else has been willing to take up the challenge, but Mamata has become so radically socialist as of late that it is challenging to distinguish between her and the commies (One has goondha’s to do their work, one does not). Urban educated Bengali’s have dumped her. I have Bengali friends in Ahmedabad and Mumbai who can’t even stand to visit Kolkata.
Main problem in bengal, civil society become completely under the control of CPIM. There nobody can be neutral> If somone try to stay as a neutral, then CPIM stamps them as a supporter of opposttion party, means:’you’. In bengal weither it “we” or “you”. no moddle path.
Of late some people, like Aparna sen, Mahesweta Devi, Kabir Suman, etc have started protesting againt “Cadre Raj’ after seeing Singur and Nandigram. But local media, under CPIM control, do not give coverage them. If local media do not cover them, How ordinary people know it and get inspired after listening them.
About Mamata, yes, I agree, she has become more radical after become frastrated for long times.
I personally feel, along with protest, she have to draw plan for Bengal and spread it throughout the bengal. Isuue should be education and infrastracture, these two issue, bengal people take easily, becuase Bengali people give utmost imporatant to education. If these are best in India, Industry will flow to bengal.
These two most important thing has been ruined completely by CPIM through the connection between party+education and party+promoter nexux.
